About this audiobook

Two women. An office filled with secrets. One terrible crime that can't be taken back.

Dawn Schiff is strange.

At least, everyone thinks so at Vixed, the nutritional supplement company
where Dawn works as an accountant. She never says the right thing. She
has no friends. And she is always at her desk at precisely 8:45 a.m.

So when Dawn doesn't show up to the office one morning, her coworker
Natalie Farrell―beautiful, popular, top sales rep five years running―is
surprised. Then she receives an unsettling, anonymous phone call that
changes everything…

It turns out Dawn wasn't just an awkward outsider―she was being targeted by someone close. And now Natalie is irrevocably tied to Dawn as she finds herself caught in a twisted game of cat and mouse that leaves her wondering: who's the real victim?

But one thing is incredibly clear: somebody hated Dawn Schiff.

Enough to kill.

The Coworker is a tense, unputdownable thriller from New York Times bestselling author Freida McFadden that explores the dark ways the past can echo through the present―with deadly consequences.

Highly recommend! Although I had it figured out before the big reveal - process of elimination- I really enjoyed the book. It was a great companion on the lonely road between Tucson and Phoenix.

So good! Twisted and so well written. Unexpected development that you would never had guessed.

It was OK. The RE emails were annoying and the narrator was a bit monotone and robotic at times. Not one of her better books

If I could have given 1/2 of a star it still would have been too much. This book was awful…the narration sounded like a robot reading it and the story, I have no words. Normally McFaddens books are excellent, my favorites in fact. I can’t believe this is the same author that wrote The Teacher and The Housemaid.

I like the dark humor and how this author writes!

I can’t tell if the book is over-dramatic and stating the obvious or if it’s just the terrible narration. The narrator should better understand the content before she tries reading aloud. Everything is extra. Extra monotone when she does the monotone person voice or reads emails, extra emotion whether or not any emotion is called for. I can’t even finish it.

I have a hard time listening to books in which the character were hearing from is such an awful person. Makes the book almost impossible to listen to. Hate books where characters cheat and come out as the good guys somehow. It ruins an otherwise great story. I was on Dawn’s side the whole time. Natalie is awful

I loved the narrator when she was Dawn! I could picture what she looked like in my head by the way she portrayed her voice! Loved the twist at the end also! Especially with Natalie!

I liked the twists and turns but the ending was so corny. It felt like a bad Lifetime movie meets the ending sequence of Mean Girls.

She’s the queen of her craft! Freida McFadden never ever disappoints! I can honestly say I never want to hear about another turtle, lol! She always leaves you with a twist you never see coming, that’s why she’s the best!

Such a great book- I was hooked from the first chapter and really enjoyed the characters and plot! Narrator did a wonderful job! I highly recommend a listen-it thankfully is more thriller than contemporary woman and only a bit romance.

This was my first book read by this author.

    ***SPOILERS***

I found this book good enough to hold my interest, but not good enough to recommend to anyone. So much of it was too far fetched for me. Character development was lacking ... especially for Caleb. I liked that Dawn was different ... quirky, possibly autistic.

I really found it hard to believe that Caleb and Dawn had this long term plan to make Natalie pay for what she did to Amelia, but then in the end Caleb went to Natalie for help to find Dawn? How did that make sense? And if he and Dawn hated Natalie so much, how did they change their minds about wanting her to pay for making fun of Amelia?

And why was Seth such a jerky boss? Why was he mean to Dawn? That wasn't explained and didn't make sense. I didn't find Seth as a lovable character at all.

Dawn suddenly changing her mind at the end of the pier like she did? Nah. Not at all believable.

It was just "okay" for me. Nothing too special.
