About this audiobook
Everybody loves Claire’s little sister, Tina. But only Claire sees the twisted psychopath hiding behind her sister’s angelic face. When Tina is brutally murdered on her fourteenth birthday, the day Claire failed to walk her home from school, Claire never forgives herself. And neither does their mother.
Twelve years later, more girls turn up dead in Newburgh exactly like Tina. Claire, now a police detective, suspects that her sister’s murderer is still on the prowl. But the serial killer stumps the FBI forensic profiler assisting the case and Special Agent Robert Cline—Claire’s old flame.
When Claire becomes the lead suspect in the murder investigation, the system turns against her. Unable to trust anyone—not even herself—Claire must break every rule in the book to save the next girl.
With time running out in this nerve-shredding psychological thriller and harrowing family drama, a shocking discovery changes everything. Is Claire’s sister truly dead—or is she playing one final lethal game?
YOU DID THIS is the first book in the Claire Wolfe Thrillers series and can be read as a standalone mystery. Fans of Freida McFadden and Karin Slaughter should get to know Claire Wolfe.

The police department in this book is the most grossly incompetent department anywhere on the planet. The main character is super annoying. The narration is terrible. How did this book make it to publication and how did anyone give it 5 stars? - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Thoroughly enjoyed the storyline of this book, the characters were very plausible and the plot kept me guessing. I sped the narrator up to 1.5 and it really worked for me - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5

The book was okay but seemed to drag on. There were a lot of twists but for some reason I found myself just wishing it was over. I actually tried to find a spoiler. It was also just a strange ending most likely to set you up for the next book. I’m really not sure if I will read it. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5

I always feel bad when I leave subpar reviews but i really disliked this book.
The first half of the book seemed really promising and I was excited to learn more. Almost exactly halfway through it took some weird turns. I know this is fiction, but for me to enjoy fiction it needs to be at least semi believable that these things could actually happen. This book relied too heavily on the "amnesia" trope to cast doubt and keep the reader guessing. And then it never explains why all the memory loss and self doubt. Maybe our protagonist needs a medical evaluation, idk. There were also tons of red herrings and too many coincidences to try and keep the reader from guessing the ending.
The romance in this book was also just unnecessary and made me cringe a few times. I think our protagonist said something along the lines of "the smell of the chicken really got my juices flowing" lol
I liked the beginning and it showed promise but sometimes a simpler story is a better one, even if it's more predictable. I just am not a fan of several plot twists for the sake of surprise, no chemistry romance, and a main character with memory loss. To each their own though. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

This was the kind of audiobook i had to listen to at any free moment i had! Its a really gripping story which you will puzzle over all the way through. I wasn't the biggest fan of the conclusion, and there were a few loose ends not tied up,but over all it was a great book. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

This is an excellent book! I listen to probably one audiobook a day while working and I have become very picky. This is the first time I've read anything by author Jamie Millen, and I can't say enough great things about it! It truly keeps you guessing who dunnit until the very end. It moves quickly, not bogged down by too much description and unnecessary detail. Lots of twists and turns, a good ending, as well as setting the stage for the next novel. I can't wait to read book number two You Made Me.3 people found this helpful

Wahoo! Great book! WOW the twists and suspension are over the top (in a good way, of course) I will definitely be looking into this author more. Kept me listening despite awful narration. Thankfully, the story itself made up for the lackluster voice impressions and deep, gruffly, and dreadful tone of the narrator (yes, listen to those who complain about narration, but DO NOT let it stop you - you will get used to it, and it's totally worth it) 2 thumbs up Jamie Millen!2 people found this helpful

This book was absolutely RIDICULOUS and hilarious it made no sense and required so much coincidence that I rolled my eyes so many times they hurt. The narration is so dramatic it’s painful. The worst part for me is the shoehorned and utterly terrible romance that makes zero sense the 2 character kissed one time in middle school and within a matter of weeks they’re in love despite the fact that the main character has not one friend. It’s always so gross to me when a woman character is given a boyfriend and suddenly she’s a new person ?. A mess of a book1 person found this helpful

I can't get past the terrible narration to determine whether the story itself is worth the read (definitely not the listen). Narration is broken, choppy, grunty, pauses where they don't belong, calm thoughts made to sound irrational and hyped up, men's voices sound like she's being choked to death ?...I could go on...but I won't bother.
I REALLY want to finish as the story seems like it "could" be OK. Some of the dialogue was questionable, at best....but, I guess I'll never know. I do know I won't bother with another book narrated by Jesse Vilinsky. No personal offense intended... Just not for me or anyone like me.8 people found this helpful

I go through mysteries so quickly and often don't feel satisfied. This book was exactly what I needed. The twists, the turns, who is telling the truth and who is the liar? After Claire loses her younger sister to a brutal murder, Claire makes it her goal to be in law enforcement and to make her way back to her hometown PD. Claire wants answers and she's going to find them. But will she like what she finds out? Is she ever going to find resolution to what happened in her past? Will it all be exposed? READ IT. Ok, from the beginning I thought it was one person. Now at the end, would NEVER have gone there. As far as a thriller…VERY well written. Have never read your books, but you have a new fan. Would advise skipping this one. Too many characters, the red herrings were employed sloppily, and the foreshadowing was too on the nose, making the “twists” pretty unsatisfying even though the premise was interesting. The narrator’s odd pronunciations (“foe-ward” perhaps the most annoying) and intonation also made it hard to keep going. This was especially true in later passages with characters posing rhetorical questions to themselves, a writing gimmick overused by the author and made worse by the narrator’s insistence on employing a downward tone at the end of every question. Started to give the second book a try, but the voices in the first chapter alone were too grating to continue. Had been excited to find a new series but it was a flop.
