"Once again, much credit goes to narrator Angela Dawe for giving voice to our protagonist and making the audiobook a blast to listen to..."- Bibliosanctum

From USA Today bestseller and Edgar Award nominee Elle Cosimano, comes Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun—the hilarious and heart-pounding next installment in the beloved Finlay Donovan series.

"Fresh, heartfelt and witty, Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun is a twisty page-turner, and its relatable heroine Finlay Donovan is irresistible!" —Janet Evanovich, #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Stephanie Plum series

Dating. Diapers. And dodging bullets. Who said single moms can't have fun?

Finlay Donovan has been in messes before—after all, she's an author and single mom who's a pro at getting out bloodstains for rather unexpected reasons—but none quite like this. After she and her nanny/partner-in-crime Vero accidentally destroyed a luxury car that they may have "borrowed" in the process of saving the life of Finlay's ex-husband, the Russian mob got her out of debt. But now Finlay owes them

Still running the show from behind bars, mob boss Feliks has a task for Finlay: find a contract killer before the cops do. Problem is, the killer might be an officer.

Luckily, hot cop Nick has started up a citizen's police academy, and combined pressure from Finlay's looming book deadline and Feliks is enough to convince Finlay and Vero to get involved. Through firearm training and forensic classes (and some hands-on research with the tempting detective), Finlay and Vero have the perfect cover-up to sleuth out the real criminal and free themselves from the mob's clutches—all the while dodging spies, confronting Vero's past, and juggling the daily trials of parenthood.

The Finlay Donovan series is ridiculous fun but this one pushed it just a little too far for me on the scale of unbelievable especially the last 50 or so pages. Though the mystery was compelling at first, it felt drawn out and in the end, it didn't seem necessary for them to have been placed in this setting to find out who the bad guy was. Despite this, the characters are truly the shining moment for this series. The witty banter and conflict between them made this book fun in the moments that felt dull.

I look forward to the next book. The setup was ridiculous but I'm always here for a new setting.

This series is amazing! This story builds so organically throughout the series and has such a natural flow. I believe this is my favorite of the three so far. I listened to the audiobook, and if you can, I highly recommend it because the banter and witty comebacks are so funny to listen to. I was literally laughing out loud while driving. This installment begins not long after the last one ended, and we are caught up on our favorite rag-tag duo very quickly. The opening scenes for all of the books will suck you in because you have to find out just how she gets out of the crazy situation she is in. I find Finlay so relatable, minus the crime bits, as a mom and just trying to get through life and pay bills and manage money and day to day life. I know this one just came out, but I need another one NOW haha.

Wow is all I can say!! They keep getting better every book in this series. I had to read the whole book in one day if was so good! I have a few favorite narrators that i love, but this narrator does finlay & Varo's adventures perfectly to draw you in and get you hooked on every word. But unlike some books The Finley Donovan Series would be just as good reading or listening, its fun and exciting in either form. Read, or listen, just don't miss this series. Now when is the next one coming? They take too long coming out.....

I love the many voices Angela Dawe performs. As for the book, it's quite a bit of slapstick comedy!

What a treat! When I had the chance to read this third book in the series, I jumped at the chance because I'd heard such good things. One problem - I hadn't read the first two books, only heard those good things. I love a good series, and most of the time I don't like reading out of order. So I did something I rarely do - I read all three books almost (but not quite) consecutively. And it's a good thing I did, because this is definitely one of those series that should be read in order. But the thing that I worry about with reading books in a series back-to-back didn't happen. I didn't get bored with the characters or the stories - Cosimano has written these books with humor and heart and great characters. I thoroughly enjoyed the audio versions of all three - Angela Dawe does a great job conveying Finlay's humor and vulnerability, and with giving the different characters their own distinct voices. Can't wait for #4!
