"[Karissa] Vacker switches easily between the higher female voices and the lower male voices, creating recognizable and believable characters.... Listeners will enjoy a gripping and twisty story." —AudioFile on Earphones Award winner A Flicker in the Dark

Following up her instant New York Times bestseller, A Flicker in the Dark, Stacy Willingham delivers a totally gripping thriller about a desperate mother with a troubled past in All the Dangerous Things.

One year ago, Isabelle Drake's life changed forever: her toddler son, Mason, was taken out of his crib in the middle of the night while she and her husband were asleep in the next room. With little evidence and few leads for the police to chase, the case quickly went cold. However, Isabelle cannot rest until Mason is returned to her—literally.

Except for the occasional catnap or small blackout where she loses track of time, she hasn’t slept in a year.

Isabelle's entire existence now revolves around finding him, but she knows she can’t go on this way forever. In hopes of jarring loose a new witness or buried clue, she agrees to be interviewed by a true-crime podcaster—but his interest in Isabelle's past makes her nervous. His incessant questioning paired with her severe insomnia has brought up uncomfortable memories from her own childhood, making Isabelle start to doubt her recollection of the night of Mason’s disappearance, as well as second-guess who she can trust... including herself. But she is determined to figure out the truth no matter where it leads.

Rarely do I get almost to the end and I am still unsure where to place blame or who the villain is in the story. This book is amazing! Snatched my attention from the first chapter and held it for the entire book. 5 Stars!

Another great psychological thriller by this author. Lots of twists and turns and loved the emphasis on the darker side of motherhood.

Suspenseful from beginning to end. Many twists and turns. Alternating timelines, but since it was relevant to the current day story, it was not distracting at all. Such a great book and fantastic narration. I am jumping on reading her previous novel “A Flicker in the Dark.”

The start was slow but I ended up really enjoying this psychological thriller. There were a lot if twists and the ending was really gratifying.
The narrator was fantastic, bringing to life both female and male characters with ease.
Highly recommend it! Push past that slughish beginning and keep going, it won't disappoint!

I was very impressed with Stacy Willingham's first book, A Flicker in the Dark. So I was very excited to get my hands on (and my ears in) her new book, All the Dangerous Things. I'm always drawn to books set in the South, being born and raised (and now retired in) that part of the US. And Willingham does a wonderful job of evoking the feel of the region, it always feels authentic. As to the characters and plot - well done, again. She's created an unreliable narrator in Isabelle - who's insomnia since her son's disappearance has mind and body frayed to the breaking point. Again, she's created a story with some twists and turns that keep the reader guessing until the end. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next. I listened to this on audio and as usual, Karissa Vacker's narration is impeccable.

I enjoyed this book. It definitely kept me guessing who was the villain in this story. It had a good plot twist type ending.

Enjoyable listen overall with a great ending. I was starting to get a little annoyed with the main character. I do get a irritated when the main plot of any story is "it is all my fault" then *suprise* not the fault of that person. It did eventually come together with a good story... just took a while.

I couldn’t finish it. It wasn’t like any thriller I’ve ever read. Plenty of descriptions to add to the word count, and ultimately, my patience just ran out. Never felt like I got to the meat of the story - and I was halfway through.
