This book was a pleasant surprise of action I wasn't expecting mixed with a good blend of heat between the characters. Joe Arden and CJ Bloom were great with the Southern accents, and the story read quickly. My heart ached for Jasper.

Unfortunately, I am going to be a Debbie Downer and say this one was just meh. While the concept was good, the overall execution was lacking for me. I actually found myself wanting to close the book multiple times. It had some awesome parts that pulled me back in, but they were short lived and my attention started drifting once again.

The characters were instantly obsessed with one another and I quickly became over it. Jasper had me all in, but Muse drove me nuts. I didn't want to hear about Jasper's black shirt anymore. I swear the descriptions of his "perfect" physique were never ending. Page after page, paragraph after paragraph... We learned nothing but how hot Jasper was... I prefer to gradually picture the characters, not create the characters all at once. I also don't need the in your face descriptions to fall for a book boyfriend. What happened to a little mystery and subtle beauty?

Overall, I think this story had a lot of potential, but could have used some TLC. It was packed with this over the top sexual romance and lacked the depth I craved. It will appeal to many readers, but it wasn't for me. I honestly just think I'm over the sexually charged reads. I'm starting to prefer books that are rich in thought and vivid in plot.
