About this audiobook
I was seventeen the first time he asked for my heart. I didn't hesitate to hand it over. In exchange, he gave me the best summer of my life.
He was my first everything. Falling in love felt written in the stars . . . but our legend, it turns out, was all a lie, and when our story ended, all I had was a broken heart.
Now, he wants a second chance. But this time, I've got more to lose than just my heart.
When the lies that pulled us apart threaten again, it will take more than sweet words from his sinful mouth to convince me.
He says the love of a lifetime deserves a million chances, but am I strong enough to fall again?
Contains mature themes.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The Legend is the third installment of the Sons of Texas series. The storyline from the previous books is that the father’s wife had been brutally murdered years ago and it caused a rift in his family, as his sons blamed him for her death. The sons grew up and each left for some form of military service and didn’t look back. In book one they find out that their father has been kidnapped along with a bioweapon of unknown danger. Each book is a different brother’s story of their investigation into their father’s kidnapping. What I really enjoyed about The Legend was the second chance romance. I loved both Callie and Wyatt’s characters. They grew up together and had a few steamy months before Wyatt turned his back on Callie because he knew what kind of life he was going to be taking on. He thought that it was best then but after fifteen years he had to accept the fact that he was never going to get over her. Callie had moved on with her life but reality was that she was willing to take her chances if it means that she can have the one and only man she has ever truly loved. The slow building heat between these characters was quite steamy. In addition to the romance there is plenty of action to be had with three different factions of bad guys gunning for the brothers. The brothers had each taken a different part of the puzzle to investigate and/or throw off the bad guys. The key to staying alive is to stay one step ahead of the bad guys. I really liked that the main characters did not pull their punches and didn’t do any over necessary dialoguing with the bad guys. Nope, they just killed them.Although I have not read the other books in this series I liked that the brothers were coming together in this one. It is clear that relationships were strained but that when push came to shove they were going to stand together. Also, the rift that had divided this family has been coming together and in this story there is some closure on that issue. By the end the family was united with a common cause and a mutual enemy. There were some parts to this story that I felt were unrealistic but my biggest hang-up is about where they take their last stand. There are guns, grenades, and RPGs exploding everywhere. Not to mention a plane that is flying around while the battle rages on. Someone is going to notice. I agree that in Texas some of the ranches have a lot of land but not that much. The local authorities would have come for sure. I think that if something had been said regarding why there was no local involvement it would have sat better. Being in the middle of nowhere just wasn’t enough for me.I did find this story to be quite a page turner. Once I started reading it I did not want to put it down. I thought that the romance was sweet and steamy. The action was fast and non-stop with a wonderful blending of the romance element. I liked that there was a happily ever after for the couple but that there was also a next step in the upcoming battle. It was a good read! This review is based on a complimentary book I received from NetGalley. It is an honest and voluntary review. The complimentary receipt of it in no way affected my review or rating.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The Legend by Donna GrantSons of Texas #3The third book in the Sons of Texas series has Wyatt and Callie getting a second chance at love while fighting off numerous bad guys. Callie has worked with Wyatt’s father for over a decade while Wyatt has blamed his father for the death of his mother and stayed away for fifteen years. By the end of the book all three of the brothers and their father Orrin have found women to take into their futures…and also set their course to take down a global group known as The Saints. The story is action-packed and filled with fight scenes and rather horrible wounds to just about everyone. I found some of the things the characters managed to do while badly injured a stretch and really had trouble believing that Wyatt could be so very cold then thaw so quickly and why did Callie hanker after Wyatt for years? I am kind of curious to find out what happens next as the Loughmans, and their team, take on the nefarious international Saints.Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC – This is my honest review. 3 Stars
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Only three stars from me which is a shame as The Legend seemed to have everything needed for a great book, action, suspense, heroines and a smoking hot hero, but the story just didn't flow for me. I found it a little choppy with it's really short and fast chapters. It's not a standalone but the book really depended on the reader having read the previous books to get into this one.
