Having read some of these books out of sequence ( I REALLY wish SCRIBD and other audio book producers would list an order for them) I was aware of a few continuity errors, in the first few chapters. Coventry became Covington at one point; the deadly scorpions that killed the witch in book 2 became spiders and even Meri got a gender change and became “she”, not ‘he”! As I said I’ve read them out of order; one of the ones I read before this, is, I suspect, the latest as it finishes on a cliffhanger of involving vampires....yet again, PLEASE could someone start numbering the order in which the books should be read? It spoils the enjoyment when they’re not read in the correct order!

It was good, I just think the last one was better. This one felt a bit choppy. Didn't flow. And I figured it out pretty early. But was still good. The cat is so hilarious.

Book source ~ Kindle UnlimitedBrighton is a witch though that’s a recent discovery. She lives in a magical house. Also a recent discovery. She’s found a dead body. Again. Ok, this part is getting to be a regular thing for Brighton. She’s dating the Sheriff, but even if she weren’t she’s still curious enough to want to solve this poor woman’s murder. However, she never thought in a million years her own brother would be a suspect. She needs to find the real killer and quick before her brother gets locked up for a crime he didn’t commit. Or did he?This is still a quirky fun series and this one is a great addition to while away an afternoon. Or evening. Or morning. Yeah, I know it’s a murder, but it’s a cozy so it isn’t gruesome or anything and there’s eye candy and humor to lighten it up. Also, a talking cat. Did I mention that? My one beef is the editing. It’s starting to get sloppy. The killer from the previous book has a different name than in this book. How do you fuck up something like that when it’s the very next book? There are some other editing issues that are minor, but that one pissed me off. Anyway, other than that it’s a decent read. I mentioned the talking smartass cat, right?
