About this audiobook

I woke from cryostasis a prisoner. My crime? I have no idea.

I was stuck with a hundred other women, all headed to who knows where. Captive in a dank, dirty cargo hold. Then, out of the darkness, came Solair.

A handsome alien. Golden skinned. Horned. The dashing captain of a pirate ship. They rescued us-he gave my people food, shelter, and promised us safety. In exchange? He took me for himself.

But the people who captured us, haven't given up. They want us back. They're powerful and will do whatever it takes to find us. The only thing stopping them? Solair.

He wants me. And what he takes . . . He keeps.

Contains mature themes.

Author

Celia Kyle

Ex-dance teacher, former accountant and erstwhile collectible doll salesperson, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Celia Kyle now writes paranormal romances for readers who: 1) Like super hunky heroes (they generally get furry) 2) Dig beautiful women (who have a few more curves than the average lady) 3) Love laughing in (and out of) bed. It goes without saying that there’s always a happily-ever-after for her characters, even if there are a few road bumps along the way. Today she lives in central Florida and writes full-time with the support of her loving husband and two finicky cats.

DNF - I got 2/3 of the way through and realized that I just wasn't enjoying the book. I could not find any redeeming quality in the female protagonist. Slight spoiler here - She would not be someone I would cheer for in fact I believe that while she she is the only one with military background slightly suffering from battle PTSD issues she just comes off as a rude, mouthy overly zealous mother hen. Even after it is slightly pointed out to her the errors in some of her thinking and she acknowledges them to a certain extent She doesn't change her behavior. She moves from one incident to another and seemed to just get worse. So no I did not find that I was getting any enjoyment from the book. However I can see where some people I have found other books by this author to be a pleasant divergent when I'm reading to keep my mind occupied. So I will probably check out other books from this author in the future.

I liked the world building and am excited to read the next installments. Didn’t care for the heroine very much but that’s just personal preference. Narrator was very good.
