About this audiobook
Mitch is an undercover cop who's about to testify against some dangerous ex-associates. Even more worrisome, he's harbouring hot, X-rated fantasies about the fast-talking little canine-and he has to deal with every male in Sissy Mae's Pack sniffing around her in a way that makes his hackles rise. Mitch has his pride, and he intends to show Sissy Mae that when a lion sets out to make you his mate, the only thing to do is purr, roll over, and enjoy one hell of a ride.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This review was updated on A Weebish Book Blog as part of my TBT Review feature. Review published on 10/26/2017.Every time I re-read a Pride novel, I find myself binge reading the entire series. Laurenston’s shifters never get old! There’s something wonderfully addictive about her story-telling. Her characters are silly, sexy, and downright adorable. I grow deeply attached to them and can’t seem to let them go.Mitch O’Neil first appears in “Shaw’s Tail,” the second story in THE MANE EVENT. Mitch is the half-brother of Brendon Shaw and one of his favorite hobbies is to fuck with people.Yeah. he’s a real productive pal to have. It’s no wonder he and Sissy Mae became fast friends when he decided to work for Smitty and Mace in their new security business while he awaits trial. What he didn’t expect is to become best friends with the hottest and most mischievous she-wolf he’s ever met.Mitch is one of my favorite lion shifters in the Pride series. He’s oh so naughty and delicious but what I love the most of all is his ridiculous lion-sized appetite. He eats so. Much. Food. And he does not share. It’s hilarious to watch he and Sissy battle it out for Oreos… Of course, most of their “fights” turn in to sex which is totally a bonus. He’s and Sissy are made for each other. They are both insatiable trouble makers. I have to say, Sissy Mae was never my favorite character because she was a mega bitch as a kid. Yeah, I never heard a plausible excuse for her Reign of Terror, either. Thankfully, it does seem like she’s grown out of picking on the weak and has channeled that aggression into protecting her pack, her family and friends, and getting herself and her BFF Ronnie Lee banned from foreign countries.All-in-all, THE MANE ATTRACTION is a nice addition to the Pride series. I had an entertaining time reading Sissy and Mitch adventures. It’s a blast to watch the two get themselves into—and out of—all sorts of wacky situations.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I really enjoyed this one, it was as entertaining as the first book. I found Sissy Mae and Mitch to be great characters. The interactions between Sissy Mae and her brothers are just to funny for words. The one common item through all of these books, is that the females seem to run the show not the males, I think that is great.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Absolutely funny storyline! I haven't laughed that much while reading a book in such a long time!
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5silly story...silly characters..don't think i'll be reading any more from laurenston
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5THE MANE ATTRACTION managed to surprise me, quite pleasantly, with the degree of attention and build up that went into Mitch and Sissy Mae's relationship. The book description makes it sound like they end up together after a night of tequila shots, but Laurenston sidesteps that particular romance trope for the much less common "slow build up." I really adored the friendship between Mitch and Sissy, and the Pack/Pride shenanigans that surrounded them. Currently my favorite of the series.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The biggest reasons that I gave this book five stars is that I laughed just as hard the second time as I did the first. There is no higher compliment to a book, I my mind, than that it made me laugh quite a bit. That is also the reason that I put Shelly Laurenston on my must buy list. I just wish that she would write more books. We met Mitch Shaw in Brendon Shaw’s story. Mitch is one of those people that it irreverent all the time. He is intelligent and loyal to a fault. He is also a typical lion that will eat anyone out of house and home. Mitch has had a rough couple of years and he has suffered for it. A death threat can take a toll on the hardiest. There are some great scenes with him wrestling the crocodile for food. I also loved reading about him riding in the car with Sissy Mae. I am not sure that many people could stand to be in the car with her for very long. I was glad that Mitch didn’t have to go into Witness Protection program. I think that would have hurt him more than he wanted to admit.Sissy Mae Smith is a hellion of the first order. She has been causing trouble since she was born. She is the Alpha female of her pack and no one has wanted to test her in years. It was nice to read about her home and family. I was glad that she stood up to her oldest brother. I also loved the scene where Bobby Ray, Mitch and Brendon come to her rescue when a former boyfriend tries a forced a mating. I am sure the man is never going to pick on a female that way again. I was also nice to find out why Sissy Mae’s mother was so hard on her. It made the story a little more enjoyable. There is a lot of background in this book. We are introduced to the Smith clan and the town that they control. These wolves are more than just a little crazy. They play football like it was a religion and there is the racing that is just roller derby on cars. Faster cars are what every child aspires to building when they are old enough. NASCAR is a way of life for these people. They are a close knit group though and heaven help anyone that hurts one of them.I continue to love this series and look forward to each new book. I hope that there will be many more in the making.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I don't know quite where to put Shelly Laurenston's "The Mane Attraction" on the shelf. Does it go under romantica? It's not quite erotica, but more than romance. And it's packed with humor that kept me giggling and snorting and had my husband looking at me strangely (OK, MORE strangely than usual.)He's a werelion. You know, gorgeous and mostly lazy, happy to go all night and have someone else take care of the details...alot like lions in the wild. He's also a cop with a target on his back. The mobster he, and only he, can finger for murder is looking to get rid of the only witness. That would be Mitch. It's enough to put a lion off his feed! But it could be worse...now he's got Sissy Mae taking care of him and watching his back. If only he could stop staring at his 'buddy's butt.Sissy Mae is a born troublemaker. She's also got a streak of loyalty a mile wide, so when her 'buddy' Mitch is wounded in a murder attempt, she decides to take him home...to her home, and to hell with what anybody else thinks. She'll take on weredogs, werewolves, werelionesses, and werebears to keep him safe even if she can't seem to stop lusting for him. Oh well, as long as she's in charge there won't be any problems. Hey have you heard this one? A lion and a wolf...well, you'll just have to read this one for the rest of it.Humor, hot sex, mystery, and roller-derby auto racing...how can you pass this up?

I love it, I love it, I love it!!!!! This is definitely my new favorite series of the week!! Such a fun series to read!! Really great dynamic and engaging characters, witty banter, fast paced story lines and enough steam to fill a sauna!!
Sissy and Mitch are friends and have a fabulous back and forth teasing banter. They are both troublemakers and the combination is hilarious. They are a pair of playful pranksters who have no clue that they have fallen in love. It really sneaks up on them, not so much of a surprise to anybody else.
The plot this time took up home to Tennessee and you really see a lot of the whole Smith family! I love all the trouble Sissy and Ronnie stirred up! Their past pranks and all the crazy fun they get into on this visit were a delight to read!! I was laughing my way through most of the book! So many favorite moments and lines!!
When the steam happened, it was hot as all get out!! This series really knows how to deliver the smexy!!! Good lord does it get hot and heavy!! Such wicked detail in a mainstream read!
As always a well crafted tale that is delightful from beginning to end. The supporting cast this time around is plentiful but never gets confusing. The mixed narrative helps to keep the reader in on the thoughts of the main characters. You also get a few bonus POV from other characters, this helps give a fuller more enriched reading experience.
Charlotte Kane is the narrator for the series and she is fabulous! She's perfect for these books, she brings in the sense of fun and energy to the reads. Great characterizations, everybody has a distinct voice. She is a rather quick reader, something I enjoy but others might be put off by. She makes me laugh out loud all the time. Big love for her reads!
I can not wait to jump into the next book!! I hear it is a yummy bear shifter, those are my favorites!! And yes Ms Laurenston, I will be stalking...um following you from now on!! - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Fun paranormal story with lots of humor, steamy scenes and plenty of action. I liked how the hero & heroine were good friends first. She-wolf Sissy Mae gets injured lion shifter Mitch to a safe place to hide before he testifies. It was nice to see characters from previous books in series playing a role.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Completely incredible! Sissy Mae and Mitch just made my favorite couples ever list and that is quite the feat. Their every waking interaction was filled with fun and witty dialogues, laugh out loud moments and some really sweet ones too. The fact that Sissy and Mitch were so incredibly different from each other made their relationship that much more special. The best book in the series so far and an amazing read!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Absolutely funny storyline! I haven't laughed that much while reading a book in such a long time!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I liked this book better than Bear meets girl. These books are fun with what feels like Red neck Humor thrown in. The names are real eye rollers, and lots of action when kitties and puppies meet head on. This book has a quality that I cant really get into enough to REALLY like. This writer will probably never be in my top ten but I still chuckle through the book.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This one made me laugh out loud. I wasn't sure I'd like Sissy all that much after how she treated Jessica but the author did a great job with this one.
