Looking into an ancestor’s eyes

I’m looking at a photograph of my 3 x great-grandmother, Maria Bryan. It’s tiny, a little fuzzy and pixilated, and I confess I didn’t receive it lovingly handed down by an ancestor but snipped it, with permission, from a very distant relative who had placed it on the outskirts of his Ancestry tree. Sadly, he didn’t have a source for the original and I’ve been unable to discover it myself.
