About this audiobook

New town, new school. Same story. I'm Laura, I've spent most of my life crisscrossing the county yielding to the whims of my transient mother. We've never stayed in one place long enough to call it home, and I don't have any hope of that changing.

I follow the rules; no drawing attention to myself, no friends, and especially no boys.

But my mom's been keeping secrets, secrets so profound they threaten to turn my world upside down. I've always assumed her paranoia was a symptom of a mental illness, but as her secrets begin to unravel, I realize nothing is what it seems.

As my life careens out of control a group of guys from school promise to give me answers about who I really am. I'm afraid of what I might learn, but more afraid of what I could be giving up if I don't listen.

Contains mature themes.

Can she by any more annoying! I wish she wasn’t so insecure and always so defensive. Plus she gave in so easy about everything. How can she suppose to be the most important and center of their infinity when she is so unsure about everything and have no I fight in her. This whole first book lead to nowhere. So frustrating that there is such a lack of understanding of what the hell is going and what what being a infinity is all about. I hope the next book she starts to have confidence in herself and grow into a stronger person. It’s a weird that this was written by Albany, her other books have such strong female characters in her books. Absolutely love Friends with the Monsters. Damiana is such a badass!
Also the narrator didn’t help with liking “L” character. The narrator sounds like she has a smokers voice and made her sound horrible and her male voice was even worse. Couldn’t tell the female or the male voices apart. Hoping it will start to get better because I love Albany Walker.

The narration is fine, it’s just the story itself. Super angsty, taking forever to get to the point the female lead is so freaking whiny, doubtful, and her inner monologue just makes her sound so young for being someone who is adulting so much so that she takes care of her mom and puts food on the table.

Great story.. worth the read. Though the main character gets on my nerves at times with how offended she gets over the smallest things.. I hope her character evolves.

I really enjoyed this book, chapters 24 skip quite a bit. Where it goes completely silent and then starts back at a random sentence.
