About this audiobook
When Librarian Liberty Cutter’s library goes up in flames, the town relocates the library to an abandoned academy. Liberty feels eyes watching her from the derelict structure’s gothic windows, but never imagines the truth is stranger than fiction – until she meets a talking dog.
The dog tells her a pack of book-burning werewolves cursed the building. Plus, beneath the library an ancient race of dog-shifters work to protect the world’s knowledge. Funded by internet giant Zoogle, these dog-shifting scholars enjoy their Starbarks coffeehouse as they research their way to freedom. Until the public library’s zany librarians move in…and things begin to shift.
Werewolf restauranteur Sybilla itches to become pack alpha and stoops to adding wolfsbane to her husband’s tea and using werewolf genre readers to infiltrate Liberty’s library
Chronus, the Old English Sheepdog headmaster, must persuade Liberty to believe in him and his world because Liberty holds the key to the dog-shifters’ freedom – and his heart.

A Fun Kitchen Sink...
It's a fantasy! It's a paranormal! It's a small town romance! In this zany genre mash-up, Amber Polo spools out puns and fast-paced action with equal ease. It involves a librarian, a shapeshifting dog, a group of nasty werewolves, and some small town hijinks. It's the kitchen sink of genres, and it defies categorization--but will bring a smile.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5A sharpshifter, library book. The characters were interesting and followed the story well.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Such a fun story. Shapeshifters that turn into pet type canines against werewolves. One side good librarians the other side evil book burners. Such an imaginative world. I will definitely listen to the other stories in the series. Highly recommend this first book.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Dog lovers embrace the book.
A someone who absolutely LOVES dogs and really enjoys most shifter books, this book was a joy to listen to. Yes we have the typical werewolves but what was completely new to me and a revelation was DOG SHIFTERS!! So many different breeds were mentioned oh and the story itself about librarian's was also a very new idea. All the characters are really likeable, even the baddie werewolves and the story kept me listening right to the end. The narrator does a fantastic job at giving all the different characters personality. I really recommend this audiobook. ?? - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wonderful. I loved the characters and concepts they were fun and kept my interest.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5It is certainly an interesting concept. I don’t know if I was distracted or what, but I was so lost. A lot of things were left unexplained and the story just jumped around a lot. No harm done in trying but I was really confused by the plot

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5There was much to love about this book. Great, original story, unique and engaging characters, the involvement of librarian-speak, and using the Dewey Decimal System as language was delightful. Where I balked was the negative characterization of body types. The evil werewolf alpha was twisted, aged and ugly. The fat librarian was lazy, lacked character and was truculent and intractable. Slim and attractive were equated with all things virtuous. This is covert bigotry and it causes real harm to people with body types that diverge from what society prefers. I would hope that this otherwise excellent author will veer away from this bigotry in future works as they diminished my enjoyment noticeably and make me hesitant to read her works again.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I just felt like this story was missing alot of the fleshed out bits. The base story was an interesting idea but just needed more.
