The electrifying sequel to the International Bestseller Variant Lost.

Bradford Hills feels more like home than any other place Evelyn Maynard and her mother lived while on the run. But with everyone reeling from the violent clash between Variants and humans, her new home doesn’t feel safe any more.

Navigating four increasingly complicated supernatural bonds in secret doesn’t help. Ethan and Josh can’t keep their hands off her. Tyler is supportive, but continues to keep her at arm’s length. Alec has both saved and destroyed her yet seems oblivious to the turmoil he’s caused.

As tensions between Variants and humans continue to escalate, dark and dangerous secrets keep creating seemingly insurmountable challenges.

Who’s kidnapping Vitals?

What was Evelyn’s mom running from?

Will it ever be safe for Evelyn to go public with her true identity?

More deadly answers are coming, whether she’s ready for them or not.

Book 2 was even more jammed packed with action, and on top of it we finally get some ??? time with Evelyn and some of her guys! I literally have not been able to stop listening in between work and my other adults responsibilities hahaha. I am in love with this series and cannot wait to get further into book 3 (also bittersweet since I don't want it to end!!).

I was getting sick of all the secrets and hurting each other within the harem, I am glad some things got resolved because I was about to chuck my headphones with some of the antics going on. Like I get some of the characters had to be difficult ?. I love how much of a teddy bear Ethan is, how he is super sensitive and a big cuddly goof who has some insecurities that really "humanizes" him in the best way. We keep getting surprises from Josh, loved how loyal he is, how how he was there for Evelyn when she needed him, even before she knew she needed him. Oh and his powers are super awesome haha. Tyler was stubborn and not communicative but really brings on the older protector who is also kinda nerdy. Love that mesh of tropes. He finally gets over some hurdles which means the strengthening was allowed to start regarding the bond. Now Alec, again I could totally understand where he was coming from but others you just wanted to smack him upside the head. I like that Evelyn wouldn't back down from him, gave him as good as he was doling it out. The end was so stressful but so amazing, I loved seeing the happiness with Alec, but the costs were super high (not going to give it away but be ready for some tough stuff at the end of this one!).

The side characters here really elevated the storyline. I felt so bad for Dot and Charlie, and how Dot was struggling and Evelyn was able to help (backfired a little but it was still good to see Dot return to some semblance of normal). The loss of one of the beloved characters in book 1 has a huge impact on this storyline. I missed her flirty retorts, her goofy and funny antics, she brought a smile to a lot of people and her presence was easily noticed missing from book 2. I knew something was off about one of the other side characters, must not to the extent that is revealed in this one. I wanted to shake Evelyn to see if coming, so many signs something was off but it was ignored/overshadowed. Loved seeing Dot get to have some fun times with Alec's flirty teammate hahaha. The snark in this book was a great addition. Lots of jokes despite some of the tougher situations/topics.

The book is packed full of action, tension, sexiness, raw emotions, sadness, you name it. I won't be giving the plot away because some things I totally didnt see coming and I wouldn't want to ruin it for someone. Seeing some cameos from previous characters, seeing the way the walls broke down with Evelyn and her guys, and the reveals involving Lucian, and Evelyn's parents were done amazingly, I enjoyed everything. I was worried about Lucian, not gonna lie. I see him as Evelyn's real dad, not the crazy one who was revealed in this book. The overall variant/vital/human plot and confrontation was done well, I could see the battles in my head and some of the moments were super gut wrenching. Loved seeing some of the changes in the guys' powers because of Evelyn, learning more about Dana and feeling maybe she could be friends in the future with Evelyn. So much meat to stick your teeth into with this story....really good blend of action, romance, and plot ❤️

Narration was on point, no bad comments from me at all. I thought some of the accents were done well, some flipped a bit from book 1 to 2 (like it describes some of the characters being raised in a certain spot but then why do they have an accent, also some had posh accents but not all the time which was a little confusing but didnt deter from the performance).

5/5 again from me, loving book 3 already but dreading it being over. I wonder if we will get any spinoffs from this world haha. I would be all for it ? Ready to see the bad guy get his just rewards. Also his followers and blind believers in his cause.

Amazing! I loved this book just as the last. You do get more steamy times in this book, so that's always a big plus. I'm glad all of her guys are finally coming around...now can't wait to see how they deal with the newest issue at hand.
