About this series
I’ve seen the worst of war, and have dealt with my own demons. Because of that, I’ve decided to open a therapy ranch.
Everything is going great except one issue, my partner, Tia. She’s bossy, sarcastic and so hot, I can barely keep my thoughts straight when she’s around.
I fight my need for her, but she knows exactly how to push my buttons. One massive fight leads us to locking lips, and worse, it’s at that moment I know she’s the one for me.
But before I can claim her heart, I not only have to do everything in my power to not only save the ranch we both love, but also Tia’s life.

Growing up as the youngest of four brothers wasn’t always easy, but it taught me life skills, like how to flirt. Okay, that’s not really a life skill, but it is one of the things I do best. I rarely have a problem charming women. That is until I run into Kianna Jones. She’s wary of a relationship, or even dating, but somehow I convince her to spend my last day stateside with me. While I’m gone, we spark up a correspondence, and by the time I return, I’m pretty sure I’ve fallen in love. Kianna doesn’t believe in love and thinks I’m too young for her. She’ll agree to an affair, but according to her, there can’t be anything beyond that. She says there’s no way a man like me would want a woman like her. I’m not happy with her assumptions, but I’m not ready to give up. If there is one thing a Santini understands is that nothing worth fighting for comes easily–and I’m prepared to launch the fight of my life.

I’ve always been the brother with a plan. It’s not that I stood out that much. Raised by a Marine father and a kick ass Marine wife, our life has always had a sense of order to it. I like that. Plans don’t fail. You fail to plan. Only, I didn’t plan for MJ. She’s a hard-headed physical therapist who’s taking care of one of my buddies, and she rubs me the wrong way. And by rubs me the wrong way, I mean, I can’t get her out of my mind. I always knew about the Santini Curse, I just didn’t know it would drive me to chase a woman. She tells me she doesn’t have time for romance, and definitely not with a man who wears a uniform. She agrees to a simple affair, but nothing beyond that. But she’s never dealt with a Santini man in love, and remember I’m the one who plans everything. And the only plan on my schedule is proving to MJ that loving a Santini might not be easy, but we are definitely worth the fight.

In the loud Santini family, I’ve always been known as the quiet one. It works well with being a SEAL. Living in Hawaii is a dream come true, and the fantastic rental I get is amazing. My only problem is my infatuation with my landlady Alana Kailikea. Gorgeous and independent, Alana is a happy woman, but every now and then, I see shadows in behind her smiles. I live a difficult life, one where I I fight my attraction until my idiot brothers show up for a visit, and one little flirtation from my older brother has me taking that chance. From our first kiss, I know she’s the one for me. Only Alana isn’t sure she believes we can work. We might heat up the seats, and we can’t keep our hands off each other, but she resists the idea of forever. So, I have not choice but to pull out all the stops to woo the love of my life. Thankfully being raised a Santini has taught me not to give up without a fight and I won’t walk away until she knows we were made for each other.

I’m the last Santini standing. All my brothers have lost their damned minds and fallen for the Santini Curse. That’s one thing I don’t have to worry about. I already met the love of my life but she was my best friend’s girl. Julianna is my dream girl and no woman has even come close to her in comparison. Only now she’s free and we are finally living in the same place. But she says I’m a reminder of her past, and that is some place she doesn’t want to go. I can’t blame her. That old buddy of mine was an abusive jerk–something I never knew. But with one kiss, I melt her resistance, and soon, I talk her into more than one kiss. She tells me she doesn’t believe in happily ever after anymore, but I’m determined to prove to Jules I can give it to her.

The moment I met my sister’s best friend Madison Baker, we immediately take a dislike to each other. She always thinks she’s right, and worse, she usually is. We spend our four years at the academy torturing each other. Years later, she’s out of the Marines thanks to a roadside bomb. If you think that means she’s fragile, you would be wrong. She’s stronger than anyone I know, and we still drive each other crazy, and when one of our arguments ends up in a blazing hot kiss, and then we can’t seem to keep our hands off each other. When she tells me she’s seen a murder, and no one else believes her, I stand up for her, because this is Madison–she’s always right. Together, we sift through the meager evidence, trying to unearth the secrets someone is trying to hide. Neither one of us expected that it would draw us closer—or that a killer is hell bent on making sure those secrets stay buried.

From an early age, USA Today Bestselling author Melissa loved to read. First, it was the books her mother read to her including her two favorites, Winnie the Pooh and the Beatrix Potter books. She cut her preteen teeth on Trixie Belden and read and reviewed To Kill a Mockingbird in middle school. It wasn’t until she was in college that she tried to write her first stories, which were full of angst and pain, and really not that fun to read or write. After trying several different genres, she found romance in a Linda Howard book. Since her first published book, Grace Under Pressure, Mel has had over 60 short stories, novellas, and novels published. She has written in genres ranging from historical to contemporary to futuristic and has worked with 8 publishers although she handles most of her publishing herself. She is best known for her Harmless and Santini series. After years of following her military husband around the country and world, Mel happily lives with her family in horse and wine country in Northern Virginia.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The story teller was boring it should have been a man and woman telling it giving the story more life and feeling. But the story itself was good.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Enjoyed the story. Great author. I was getting nervous during the lady 60 minutes trying to figure out if the killer would be revealed…
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Short and sweet!! Great book, when the Santini fall for a woman, they fall hard. Give this book a listen. Although, be prepared for topics of PTSD and OCD.
