About this series

Everyone in Manhattan thinks they know everything there is to know about Lucian Prescott.

In his mid-forties, he’s a successful businessman, the founder and CEO of one of Manhattan’s largest hospitality companies, the Prescott Group. He’s sexy, rich, and one of the most eligible bachelors in the city. Very few people know just how dangerous he is. Because he’s also the head of the Kings of Hell’s Kitchen, a small, elite group of former mob members who are the lynchpin in Manhattan’s underground organized crime scene.

But Lucian has more secrets than just his criminal ties—like the fact that he’s been in love with Olivia Walsh for the past five years. Olivia, who is eighteen years younger than him and happens to be the daughter of Prescott Group’s biggest, most important investor. She’s completely off-limits, but that doesn’t stop him from wanting her. In his arms. His bed. His life.

He knows he needs to stay away from her, no matter how he feels about her—or how she feels about him. But staying away becomes impossible when Olivia’s ex—a man almost as dangerous as Lucian—begins stalking her, and he’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

He’ll burn down the entire city to protect the only woman he’s ever loved.

From bestselling author Tara Wyatt comes a funny, sexy friends to lovers romance set against the backdrop of Manhattan. Theo Prescott is better off alone. A successful divorce attorney, he knows that relationships don’t last, true love isn’t real, and fairy tales are the stuff of fantasy. Deep down, he knows if he let himself fall for someone, he’d only end up causing pain. And he refuses to do that to anyone—including and especially his best friend, Lauren. Even if she’s gorgeous, ambitious, and smart. Warm and funny. Talented and quite possibly perfect for him. Lauren MacKinnon has been pining after Theo for the better part of a decade. He’s sexy, intelligent, thoughtful and makes her laugh harder than anyone else. He’s her best friend, but if he knew how she felt about him, he’d run for the hills. She’s well aware of how he feels about love and relationships. And as much as her unrequited feelings hurt, she’s not willing to risk their friendship for an impossibility. Lauren knows it’s time to move on, so when her friends suggest Theo set her up on a blind date, she agrees. But when Theo realizes that he can’t handle watching Lauren with another man, sparks just might fly.

Sebastian Prescott once had it all. A promising career as an Olympic-bound snowboarder, money, and a bright future. But a devastating knee injury sent him on a decade-long downward spiral, capped off by losing his prestigious job. And Sebastian places the blame for getting fired entirely on the shoulders of Kayla Bristowe, the woman who worked directly under him—and the subject of his fantasies. Three years later, Kayla is shocked to come face to face with Sebastian, who's now working as a snowboarding instructor at the resort hosting her corporate retreat. His anger over what happened is palpable. So is the chemistry still sizzling between them. Chemistry that Kayla tries desperately to ignore because she's on the hunt for Mr. Perfect. And while Sebastian is a lot of things--sexy, arrogant, and a walking train wreck come to mind--her ex-boss is most definitely not Mr. Perfect. But mother nature has other plans, and Kayla and Sebastian end up snowed in together with only one bed. Alone with Kayla, Sebastian's fantasies come roaring back to life, despite the lingering animosity between them. And he's not her boss anymore. At least, not out of bed...

Never sleep with your boss. It’s advice that Willa Banks could’ve used six weeks ago when, after the most terrifying night of her life, she sought comfort in the arms—and bed—of her grumpy, intense, sexy-as-hell boss, Max Prescott. Now, working with him day in and day out is pure torture for Willa, who’s wanted Max since the day they met—even if he doesn’t want her, something he’s made abundantly clear. Eight years ago, tragedy upended Max’s life, making him see himself as a toxic, broken monster. A monster who needs to stay far away from the sweet, warm, beautiful Willa, who he’s wanted for months now. But he refuses to hurt her the way he’s hurt people in the past, so it doesn’t matter how much he pines for her. Longs for her. He needs to stay far, far away from Willa. Max’s rejection hurts, and Willa is determined to get over him. So when she’s matched with someone on a dating app her company is beta testing—with 98% compatibility, no less—she sees it as the perfect opportunity to move on. But fate has other plans, because Willa has no idea the man she’s messaging—and falling for—is none other than Max…

The narrator of this book sounded like a computer. It was awkward to listen to.

Hmm I liked it but it I’m not sure if I’d jump to listen to this author again. There was only 1 narrator but that can work sometimes (2 narrators are always better) some good hot scenes & I really enjoyed the beginning and lead up to the book but probably started to drop off for me 2/3 of the way in.

Steady building romance, steamy bed scenes. The last several chapters seemed to drag- I was done with the story by then.
