It’s time to turn inward,
And prepare for the day,
Just take a few minutes,
To meditate and pray.

PAUSE

Keep your mind attuned,
And your body relaxed,
You’ll leave this meditation,
In charge and less taxed.

PAUSE

It’s easy to forget
That you have power,
When life gets crazy, 
By the minute and hour.

PAUSE

But how you use that power,
Is really the trick.
Soft approaches
Are the ones that often stick.

PAUSE

So when the kids won’t get up,
Although the alarm has sounded,
Take a deep breath,
And gently rouse them. 

PAUSE

When the dog makes a mess
Inside the house,
Gently clean it up,
And then take him out.

PAUSE

And if you’re running late to work,
Avoid stepping on the gas,
Just call your boss,
And say you’ll be there safely, but fast.

PAUSE

And if the eggs over cook,
And the toast goes black,
Just breathe and hit the fridge,
For another snack.

PAUSE 

And, if the clothes you want
Are still in the laundry,
It’s okay to breathe and let go,
Of this little quandary.

PAUSE

Remember, when you keep your cool,
The better you feel,
You maintain your power 
By not making a big deal.

PAUSE

So trust yourself,
To stay very Zen,
You’ll have more joy each day,
Again and again.
