Description

》Do you know what self-integration means?
》Have you ever thought about why you have the pet peeves that you do?
》Do you know your why in the world?
》Have you ever had a negative experience with talk therapy?

Bryan Nixon is a psychotherapist and the founder of Mindful Counseling GR. He is the host of the Why in the World Podcast which focuses on Relational Psychodynamic and Psychoanalytic topics and interviews, with particular emphasis on the transformative potential of the therapeutic relationship. Bryan is also one of the founding facilitators of the Relationally Focused Psychodynamic Therapy program, which is a post-grad continuing ed program for licensed therapists.
In this episode, Bryan and I talk about: what self integration is, what society's relationship to anger often is, what terms like psychodynamic and psychoanalytic mean, what is relational psychology, the role that our subconscious (or unconscious) mind plays in our lives, the sneaky ways that our subconscious dictates how we behave, react, and relate to life, what being angry, triggered and activated can show us about where and how we need to heal, how we can repeat childhood patterns with our therapists and how our past and our childhood can repeat itself in the present, the responsibility that both the patient and the therapist has to check in with their subconscious and be aware of their childhood patterns, how the relationship between patient and therapist shapes the progress of the patient as well as the therapist in their healing journeys...
