Description

We prepare our children for years to finish strong and be read to leave the nest. But sometimes we forget to prepare ourselves and end up dealing with a lot of feelings of sadness and loss.Allie Hill from Allie Hill Coaching is here to let you know you aren't alone and that there are some great ways to deal with the feelings you are having.Takeaways:Remember that it is possible for you as the mom to overdo all of the lasts and stress out your child and take the joy of the next step for them. It’s important to process your emotions, but do it away from your child.Therapy can be helpful. Make sure to start early to get some traction before your child leaves. The biggest myth is that the empty nest is going to be bad, sad, or EMPTY. Know that you have the opportunity to create the next best chapter of you life because you have your time back.“Dream and Scheme” to get back in touch with things that once lit you up. Reconnect with your younger self and allow yourself to get excited. When your child leaves, let them take the lead on how often they want to communicate with you. Have a conversation with them on expectations and boundaries. Remember that them leaving home was the goal all along. You’ve done your job. Take a pause. In your happy nest, start your day with a great morning routine that makes you feel really good.Connect with other people. Don’t shut yourself off. Get up and out of the house.Be willing to get out of your comfort zone and meet new people. We encourage our kids to do this, so we need to be willing to do it ourselves.Remember when they come home for holidays, they aren’t coming home just to see you.Be present with them while they are home. Don’t ruin the time by thinking about when they are leaving. If you are struggling, have a conversation with your partner and let them know what you are experiencing, whatever emotions you are having. And then listen to them too. Then work as a team to create some joy and excitement of shared plans. Allie and all information about her coaching services, membership and other programs can be found at her website: https://alliehillcoaching.com/Allie is on Instagram at: http://www.instagram.com/alliehillcoachingI can be found at:WCome talk to me here:Find me on my Website:https://www.lesleylmcshane.comFREE: Midlife in Motion ROADMAP I want more details on the MIDLIFE IN MOTION program:I don't need details, I want IN in the MIDLIFE IN MOTION program:Schedule a Kickstarter Call to get your nutrition and fitness on track!Connect with me on Instagram:Get Redesigning Midlife Weekly Updates:Find your community at the private Redesigning Midlife Facebook Group:You Deserve It Notebook: Goal Tracker, Planner, ...

As a former competitive athlete, I understand the importance of consistency when working to reach goals in all areas, while also dealing with these transitions of life. I’ve watched many friends and family struggle, wondering why they can’t stay motivated to be active, eat intentionally, and follow through on commitments they have made to themselves. In my late 40s, I figured out how crucial it was for me to take control of my physical and mental health in order to handle all of the pressures that adult children, aging parents, looming retirement, and weight gain from menopause were throwing at me. I made the conscious decision that life was too short to not practice the self care I needed in order to prioritize my own needs at this ageIf you are ready to stop procrastinating, I want to help you make that investment in yourself. You need accountability and a good time-management plan to set yourself up for the peace and harmony you desire.
