#VUCA: WHAT IS IT?
#VUCA-- it's an acronym, widely used in organizations to describe the #market; a volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous place. It's a reminder, something to factor in when structuring teams or simply getting too comfortable working a specific way.

Volatility, the V of #VUCA, references the idea that change is nearly impossible to predict, being wild and almost spontaneous. It is a reminder to accept change as a fact of life in an organization, and simply another part of the environment around it. This encourages a clear vision of the future, with flexible goalposts towards it, so it can be adjusted when there are, inevitably, changes in the #market.

Uncertainty, the U of #VUCA, is the idea that the present time isn't clear, and what happens in the future can never be certain. It reminds individuals and organizations to constantly review their performance, learning from mistakes, so their performance is not a factor in the uncertainty. It enables the idea of experimentation, testing how situations play out, with data and listening skills being the backbone of this prediction.

Complexity, the C of #VUCA, is the idea of multiple, complex factors play into the loss of focus and muddling of situations. This is a reminder to have clear, concise communication within an organization, especially during complicated situations where members of a team might become stressed or overwhelmed. It encourages the organization to develop teams around the idea of #VUCA, creating them so they can work efficiently, even when things around them might be chaotic.

Ambiguity, the A of #VUCA, is the idea that there is a lack of clarity or awareness about situations as they occur. It enables organizations to embrace a culture of creativity and #agility during times of uncertainty. Keeping this in mind allows organizations to give room to alter their plans as things change and the environment becomes different than before.
