Description

Texas football has finally made it through the summer and to September, which means kickoff for the 2020 season is right around the corner. As the Longhorns prepare for the upcoming season, the Big 12 Conference released its updated schedule, complete with game times, broadcast information and a change to one of Texas' game dates late in the season.
On this week's episode of The Flagship Podcast, Horns247 columnist Chip Brown and managing editor Taylor Estes break down the Longhorns' new schedule, including how Texas may have gotten off easy with the timing of the Big 12 opener on the road at Texas Tech Sept. 26. The Flagship weighs in on the Texas-OU game, which is still set to kickoff at the Cotton Bowl on Oct. 10, and why Chip and Taylor are a little disappointed the conference chose not to go in a different direction this year for the Red River Showdown.
The Flagship shifts its focus to the Longhorns' search in the grad transfer market after Texas landed two grad transfers within the last week in running back Gabriel Watson and Arizona grad transfer wide receiver Brenden Schooler. But at the Longhorns finally done with their search to add late additions to the roster?
Chip and Taylor also weigh in on the athletics department staff salary cuts and layoffs that Texas AD Chris Del Conte announced would come down in an effort to help manage the financial loss the University of Texas is anticipating to take due to COVID-19 that led to major changes for the football season.
The Flagship then brings on 'Love it or Leave it' with this week's topics including OU naming Spencer Rattler as the starting QB, how confident Texas fans should be at receiver and much more.
Catch all of that and more on the mid-week episode of The Flagship Podcast.
