Description
The Flagship Podcast is now coming at you twice a week! Moving forward, The Flagship Podcast will feature two weekly episodes — an exclusive guest interview on Monday's and the show's leading episode with Horns247 columnist Chip Brown and managing editor Taylor Estes every Wednesday!
In the first Monday interview episode of The Flagship Podcast, Horns247 columnist Chip Brown is joined by former Oklahoma State All-American turned radio show host Sam Mayes for his take on the current situation surrounding the Pokes leading up to the 2020 college football season. With Oklahoma State making headlines over Mike Gundy's recent pay cut and contract change after an internal investigation into Gundy's relationship with his players, Sam weighs in on his thoughts on Gundy, both in covering him now and from his time playing for the Cowboys when Gundy was offensive coordinator.
Sam also weighs in on former Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich, who has taken over the OC title at Texas ahead of a crucial 2020 season for head coach Tom Herman. Sam gives his thoughts on Yurcich's time spent in Stillwater and how he sees the OC working out for the Longhorns.
Chip also gets Sam's thoughts on what the Cowboys will be fielding this season as Oklahoma State enters the year with one of the most experienced rosters both in the Big 12 and FBS college football, how he sees the Big 12 race shaping out and some behind the scenes stories about Kansas coach Les Miles, who was the head coach at Oklahoma State when Sam played for the Pokes.
Catch all of that and more in this week's interview episode of The Flagship Podcast!
The Flagship Podcast — featuring co-hosts Chip Brown and Taylor Estes with Horns247 publisher Bobby Burton as a frequent contributor — hits the airwaves each Wednesday, and centers around all the latest happenings surrounding the University of Texas and college athletics, with big-name guests joining the show on a weekly basis.
