Description
Former Texas All-American Casey Hampton knows what it takes to be great, and he proved that during his time spent with the Longhorns. A two-time leading tackler for the Texas defensive, Hampton remains one of the most talented defensive tackles to ever suit up in burnt orange, and his professional career proves just that.
After leaving Texas, Hampton was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers at No. 19 overall in the first round of the 2001 NFL Draft and spent the following 12 seasons with the organization in a time-frame that included five Pro Bowl selections and two Super Bowl rings.
Hampton officially hung up his cleats in 2012 after he spent all 12 of his professional seasons in Pittsburgh. During his time with the Steelers, Hampton saw action in 173 games, with 164 starts, and racked up 398 tackles, 39 tackles for loss, 12 QB hurries and nine sacks.
In this week's Monday episode of The Flagship Podcast, Horns247 columnist Chip Brown sits down with Hampton in an exclusive one-on-one with the Longhorn Legend. The two discuss everything from him calling out Chris Simms after he threw a pick-six to Kansas to what it was like to play for one of the best Steelers' teams in recent history and much more.
