Description

In what seems reminiscent of 2010 conference realignment, the Big 12 conference could in fact hold the key to whether or not college football is played this fall.
In this week's episode of The Flagship Podcast, Horns247 columnist Chip Brown and managing editor Taylor Estes discuss the latest news that came down early this week as the Big Ten and Pac 12 Conferences decided to cancel fall sports in 2020. This decision, which should be viewed as suspect after the Big Ten unveiled its new 2020 schedule six days ago, but dominos fell over the last weekend which led to this scenario taking form this week.
But just because the two Power Five conferences chose to make a rash decision for the upcoming season does not necessarily mean the Big 12, SEC or ACC will follow suit.
Chip and Taylor discuss why the Big 12 Conference may in fact be the swing vote in if college football is played this fall as the SEC and ACC conference officials have made public statements about being willing to move forward with the season based off expert medical professionals advice.
The Flagship Podcast discusses all the variables that come into this situation, including how Big Ten schools may have the opportunity to bounce and play against the conference's wishes if they choose to do so.
Chip and Taylor then jump into the weekly Love it or Leave it segment with this week's topics focused on Texas football's return for fall camp, including if Tom Herman's stated biggest concerns are the most relevant concerns for Texas this season, the position battles to watch in fall camp and how the COVID-19 face shields could be a disaster in the south this season.
Catch all of that and more in this week's episode of The Flagship Podcast.
