Texas wrapped up Game 1 of the season in dominant fashion as the Longhorns open the year 1-0 following a major beat-down of UTEP. The 59-3 victory marked the second consecutive year for Tom Herman to start a season with a 1-0 record with much of the credit going to senior quarterback Sam Ehlinger, who posted 426 passing yards in the first half before he was replaced by backups to get Casey Thompson and Hudson Card playing time in the season opener.
