Description

After Texas has moved to .500 on the season with back-to-back losses to TCU and Oklahoma, it’s time to talk some hard truths regarding the state of the football program entering the second bye week on the schedule.
On this week’s episode of The Flagship Podcast, Horns247 columnist Chip Brown and managing editor Taylor Estes pull back the curtains on the current state of Texas football following the Red River Showdown loss to Oklahoma. Chip and Taylor open the show with the topic on many Texas fans’ minds: What’s the state of the locker room?
After dropping to 2-2 and increased public scrutiny over a picture that circulated showing Texas QB Sam Ehlinger among the few players participating in the Eyes of Texas with fans in the Cotton Bowl following the four overtime loss to Oklahoma, the Longhorns are under the microscope of College Football with questions surfacing of if this is a sign of a fractured locker room.
Chip and Taylor discuss the increased chatter of fourth-year head coach Tom Herman's job security as more and more Longhorn fans are jumping on the Urban Meyer train, but also warn Texas fans of expecting too much as it currently stands. The Flagship also weighs in on the struggling scoring defense in Year 1 under DC Chris Ash, how alarming is the lack of the Texas run game and if the biggest disappointment is the lack of pass rush or something else for the Longhorns early in the season.
Catch all of that and much more on this week’s episode of The Flagship Podcast.
The Flagship Podcast — featuring co-hosts, Horns247 columnist Chip Brown and managing editor Taylor Estes — hits the airwaves multiple times every week, and centers around all the latest happenings surrounding the University of Texas and college athletics, with big-name guests joining the show on a weekly basis.
