    Dedication

This book is dedicated to all the world’s queens and princesses – the girl children, young women, married women, mothers, aunts, and grandmothers. It is a letter intended to remind you all that you are not a mistake, and are each destined for greatness. It is also dedicated to one special lady who embodied courage, boldness and strength at every turn, despite her circumstances and what life threw at her: My late mother, Nozibusiso Nomsa Somzana, whom the Lord used in my life to help mould the fearless lioness that I am today.

    Foreword

My thanks to Sipokazi Somzana for allowing me to delve into this life-changing and thought-provoking book. It is a well written piece, and I believe that it will teach, inspire, and guide many women out there. It is God’s desire to see women prospering in all areas of their lives, but to do so takes a determined woman who knows who she is – and whose she is. May God continue to use you mightily in this writing space to usher women to their destinies. In whatever obstacles you may come across, just remember that you have been entrusted with a great mandate, and it will take only you to accomplish it the way God has intended.

This is a book of unlearning and learning; many will begin to change their perspectives in how they see themselves and those around them. Their relationship with God will be restored and they will journey with Him as He shapes their character, helps them discover purpose, and prepares them for various roles in their spheres of life.

You are a blessing to this generation, Sipokazi Somzana. May you soar higher and higher. May the Lord make your name great amongst the nations.

    Acknowledgments

The greatest thanks and acknowledgment of all goes to my Daddy—my peace, calm, and identity, my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Thank you again for yet another beautiful and life-changing journey. This project has transformed my life, as I hope it will impact every other daughter of yours who reads it.

Thank you to the ladies who willingly shared their stories, allowing their pains and struggles to serve as inspiration for change and transformation. Thank you to the individuals who took time from their busy schedules to appraise my art, serving as soundboards and spiritual lenses up to the last stage of this project. Thank you, my people, for your input and pointers.

Lastly, I would like to thank my loved ones, both friends and family, my brothers and sisters in Christ, my spiritual mother, mentors, and coaches who continually support me in fulfilling the purpose God.

    Introduction

God created all people equally; this includes you, my lady. God looks at each of us and sees His children, His daughters, as beautiful, amazing, strong, and worthy of respect; however, as I said, this is God’s perspective and not one held by most people in society, not even by women themselves. For most women it is easier to believe what the world says about them rather than what God says, they fail to believe any good about themselves. It is my wish that every woman from a young age knows her value and her worth in this world firmly and strongly, for each to begin to shine at a very tender and young age.

Whenever I think of the words, ‘standing with her’, I think of a covering and absolute sheltering by the Lord almighty on His daughters. I think of a father who has his daughters secured and covered from anything that might serve as harm, destruction, or hindrance in them fully realising their potential and thus fulfilling their destiny on this earth. Yes, I said it, fulfilling their destiny in this world, a world that has almost gotten away with making women or girls believe that they are not worthy or to serve as a vital instrument in the development and substance of the world.

Whether you agree or hate to accept this truth, women are destined for greatness. What does this mean? Well, let me give you a brief introduction without spoiling the main course. Just like any human being, women have a purpose in life that they have been assigned from the beginning. They have a role in society that defines and constructs more than we care to admit. As much as women or girls are absolutely and undeniably amazing in the kitchen, or any other societal stipulated duties and roles, that is not necessarily their assignment in this world. Before the beginning of time, before they were conceived in their mother’s womb and birthed into this world, abilities, capabilities, talents, gifts, and so much more were deposited in them.

Whether you are a Black, White, or Asian woman, or a daughter, a sister, a wife, or a mother, we have all encountered predicaments that sought to destroy the very purpose that God pre-destined for us which led us to question our existence, things that made us question our worth and value as individuals. But despite it all I want you to remember and fully know that you are enough. It is my greatest and deepest prayer that this book will not only remind you of who you are or bring you closer to that realisation, but that it will transform you, bring you hope, spiritual refreshment, and an awakening of who you are meant to be as a woman. A transformation that will establish positive and beautiful patterns in your life, positively impacting how you see and perceive yourself. Allowing you to truly discover the divine strength that is within you my lady, my queen, my princess.

Corrupted Perception – the Defeated Life

This section particularly focuses on a prison, or should I say a cage that the enemy has set up to imprison women over thousands and thousands of years. Imprisonment has become a cultural and socially accepted perception of women, one that has almost become natural to all. I use the words cage or
