Introduction
A friend is someone who knows all about you and still loves you. –Elbert Hubbard
Having friends in your life is extremely important because not only do they help you enjoy life at its best, but they also help you in your dark and sad times by even just lending you a shoulder to cry on. Making friends may have come easily to some of us when we were younger—and then became tough to maintain—but for some, it might have been a rough ride since school. A friend is much more than a lunch buddy at school when you reach your 20s and dive deep into the real world.
Sometimes, you lose a bond with a former friend for multiple reasons, such as distance or disagreements, and then feel the loss later. Because whether or not you are in a romantic relationship, you need friends with mutual interests whom you can trust on your best days and your worst to fall back on. They will pick you up in your bad times and support you in your best times without being jealous. Those are the right types of friends.
After school—when you had so many friends you could not even count them on your fingers—you head to college, where you are no longer in a room full of people you know. The friendships you made in preschool on your first day and the familiar faces throughout your school years are now countries apart. It is your fresh start. Making friends in college is still a piece of cake compared to the real working world out there. So, you make a handful of good acquaintances in college, and if you are lucky, you bond with one person who completely gets you and whom you completely get.
What happens when you graduate? You land a job and are again in a room full of new faces. But these people may not be as open to creating friends or have the same interest in you. Making friends at work or in your favorite social hangout will
