    It’s Great to Meet You

    Hey there!

First off, let’s get one thing out of the way. If you think this book is in some way going to teach you how to manipulate people into loving you and becoming your best friend for life, then sorry, this isn’t the book for you.

You’re here because I know, and you know, that you’re an awesome person and an even greater friend, and it is beyond time for others to know about it. I’m not going to use scare tactics on you or make you feel like you have a problem that needs to be fixed because you don’t. You know your worth, and you’re tapping into it. You deserve to have the absolute best type of loving friendships, and hey, you got your first loving friend right here!

Ok, maybe that’s a little cheesy, but some of the best friendships have those cheesy moments. But you probably know that already because this book is full of common sense. Making friendships is not as complicated as rocket science; people just make it seem that way.

Think about how many times society tells us we need to change our appearance and change how we think to make long-lasting friendships throughout our life. Once we complete that, we only look for friends that are part of a higher echelon in the social hierarchy. Or that someone always has an ulterior motive. Well, my friend, this isn’t an unrealistic teen movie.

The problem is we continually learn what the do’s and don'ts of romantic relationships are, but never what we should do or expect in our friendships. To be honest, it’s pretty surprising we have all these rules for when we have a boyfriend or a girlfriend, but we do not have similar standards when it comes to friendships. Yes, we got the don’t date the ex of your best friend code, but what if your friend is making you feel like the garbage you throw into the dumpster? If that was your significant other treating you that way, what would you do? Have a conversation? End the relationship? Yeah, you’d do one of those things; why shouldn’t a friendship be different.

So what is The Art of Making Friends & Being Loved about? It’s common sense and logic. You’re here because you know who you truly are and what you stand for, and you deserve the best out of the people you choose to include in your life. It’s just a matter of harnessing your authenticity and showcasing how incredible you are to be friends with. If you’ve ever had a conversation with another person, congratulations, you already know what you’re doing.

This book is here to tell you that you can make new intimate, platonic friendships naturally and organically by applying characteristics we all have in a more effective manner. As you go on reading this book, you’ll begin to understand you already possess all the skills needed for you to make the kinds of friendships you want; it’s how you use those skills
