I wrap my sunglasses around my face and smile as I stare out at the sea. I’m so glad I came here today – I needed a little vacation from the stress of work, which seems to follow me even to my apartment on the weekend. My boss constantly has to call me and tell me of some new development that doesn’t even concern me.

I don’t know why he does that, I guess he wants me to be more involved than I currently am. The problem is, I’m already super involved in my job and try to do it to the best of my ability. I guess it’s not enough for him that I do that five days a week from 9-5. He wants me after hours, too.

Ugh. I wish I had gotten a different offer. I’ve been at this job for a couple months now and I’m trying to do a good job, but it just seems like the work keeps adding up. I don’t mind working hard, but I don’t want my career to be my entire life.

And my boss, while demanding, is also kind of weird... He’s asked me out to dinner three times now, and all three times I had to turn him down as politely as I could. It’s one thing to have lunch with him at the office and talk about work, but I don’t want to have any kind of non-professional relationship with the guy.

To be honest, he kind of creeps me out.

Needing to clear my head, I stand up and stroll down the sand. There aren’t many people here which is nice, and also surprising considering it’s such a beautiful morning. I guess the crowds will turn up later. Then I see a big hunk of a guy approaching me – at least I think he’s approaching me. He waves and I turn and look behind me. Then I point at myself and goofily mouth the word "Me?"

Yeah, you, he laughs as he nears me.
