When she walks into my clinic, I can’t believe it. She’s the whole package; everything rolled into one. Cute, bubbly, and yet seemingly shy as can be. And physically? Well, let’s just say she gets me going, if you know what I mean.

I’m forty years old and figured I’d be single for the rest of my life. Definitely not married, at least. But when I shake hands with Cassandra Stanton, I know she’s the one. Okay, Doctor Luke, she grins.

You can have a seat on the exam table. Lay back, make yourself at home. As home as a doctor’s office can be, I mean. I know they can be kinda stuffy and drab, and those seats are awful with that paper on them, right? I laugh.

She lays back on the seat. Yeah, it’s not so bad, though, she says. This is a nice office.

First time here, huh? I knew I’d never met you before. You new to town?

Yeah, just moved here from Illinois.

Whereabouts in Illinois?

The middle of nowhere, she says with an infectious smile. Small place called Dolly.

Well, welcome to the city. I figured you might be from Chicago.

Dolly’s about an hour away from Chicago. I’d go into the city sometimes, but not that often.

What brings you to New York?

I got a new job.

Nice. You liking the city so far?

Oh yeah. It’s fun. I love the hustle and bustle. Big change from small town living, though.
