Hey, Jakob. What are you up to right now? Your Instagram Stories revealed a pretty red-hot karaoke session last night. What was happening there?

At the moment I’m with a few mates coming back from Toowoomba from our friend Josh Weribone’s birthday. We had a rad day out skating, then after the official afterparty a few of us were keen to get onto some karaoke, so we all made our way to a pub called The Shamrock for the after-afterparty. I was denied entry because all I’ve got for ID is an out-of-date passport [laughs], but after a lot of waiting and convincing, I was escorted in by the publican’s wife. I wouldn’t say I’m a veteran of karaoke, but I’m on my way. I love it. I’ve even got a little karaoke machine at my house. We were all on a hot one that night. I smashed out Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York” but changed it to “Toowoomba, Toowoomba”. The locals loved it [laughs].

You’re rocking a bit of a bowl cut at the moment, what inspired the hairdo?

The haircut was inspired by cheap liquor and boredom [laughs]. A mate and I were sitting around my house every day when COVID started, and one day we found
