    PREFACE

In 2003, the town of Mbale in Eastern Uganda played host to a convention organized by Christian Missionary Fellowship International. During the event, the author, Zacharias Tanee Fomum had a deep concern that the brethren should not give up on prayer for any reason, as a result, he taught them how to pray effectively.

In Pray Without Ceasing, the author emphasizes the limitless potential of what God can do if His children would only pray and persevere. Fomum's teachings make it clear that those who cannot go without an answer will ultimately receive one through persistent prayer.

The author stresses that one of the keys to victory in the prayer life is to pray prayers that God is ready to answer. It is essential to understand God's timing with regards to prayer. Prayer is an unwavering commitment to move God to answer. Those who cannot move God to supply the needs of their ministry have no ministry at all.

Throughout the book, the author delves deep into the importance of communion with God and the role of the Holy Spirit in prayer. The author stresses the need to remove sin, self-love, and the love of the world from our lives and return to intimacy with God.

If you have a burden to discharge in prayer and yearn to lift up prayers that God will answer, Pray Without Ceasing is an excellent resource for you. Through Fomum's teachings, you will be transformed into an individual who prays without ceasing until God answers.

    PRAY WITHOUT CEASING—1

    Introduction

Do not plan to grow old.

Lord let me live to 120 if Jesus tarries.

    Then the LORD said,

"My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days will be a hundred and twenty years" (Genesis 6:3).

God has decreed 120 years for me. I refuse to have one year less! So every year, you have to be stronger and be able to murder rocks. Don’t plan to go and wait in the grave for Jesus to come. It is better to see Him coming in the air. The dead do not serve Him. I will be alive, winning people to the Lord and building up the saints.

Lord, I don’t want to be an old, sick person—a burden to the brethren. I want to be like Moses. At 120 years, his sight was not abated and he could go up the mountain. Someone may say that the psalmist said 70 to 80 years; but after him Jehoiadah lived for 130 years.

    Confess:

    Lord, renew my systems.

    Lord, renew everything in me.

    Lord, rejuvenate me.

Lord, rejuvenate my organs. Let them function with the strength of my youth.

With every additional year, let me grow with the strength of two years earlier.

If Moses had died at eighty, he would have had zero ministry. His ministry actually started at eighty. Don’t just claim years. Claim a rejuvenation. At the healing convention, a sister was prayed for and she underwent rejuvenation. She became so young that everyone was amazed.

THERE IS NO LIMIT TO WHAT GOD CAN DO

Last year we saw twelve HIV-positive people become negative. We tested them before and after. The most recent was a young girl from Bafoussam; a young man came to marry her and she was found to be HIV positive. He went on a seven-day fast asking, Lord, what do I do with an HIV-positive fiancee? God led them to come to me. They came to Yaounde and I did not have time to minister to them for two weeks. When I talked to them, she was talking superficially about herself. So I said, This one is not ready for healing. I gave her the book, True Repentance and after one week she came back and confessed her sins of immorality. She had lived as a prostitute for some time. A Pentecostal pastor was actually keeping her as his girlfriend. He had opened an account for both of them and asked her not to marry. When the man asked the pastor if he could marry her, he said she was a prostitute. I told them she could not be ministered to until she carried out restitution. She went to the pastor with her fiancé and repented to the pastor’s wife for committing immorality with her husband, and also repented to the pastor. She went to Maroua and carried out restitution. After that, I anointed her and she went back to the hospital where she had been tested. She was negative. In Gabon, I saw her shining, sitting next to her husband. She calls him, The precious one who did not reject an HIV-positive patient but stood with her to the end.

Another case was a brother in Douala.

We are dealing with a healing God. We are not deceiving people with tales and fables. We are not talking about someone who is in the tomb, but the living Jesus who is alive. I want you to believe afresh in the living Jesus you had believed in.

    Jesus is alive!

    Jesus is on the throne!

The living Jesus lives in me, in the person of the Blessed Holy Spirit.

I believe in the Holy Spirit who lives in me.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord of my life.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the power of God who abides in me.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the owner of my life.

Last weekend I was in Gabon. The only flight available was the 6 o’clock flight. After greeting the brethren, I said them to leave me alone. I locked myself up for 6 hours in order to renew intimacy with God. Lovers have to renew intimacy and it is done privately. The brethren had booked one of the top hotels and had advertised that unbelievers should pay 12,000 CFA franc (about 38000 shillings) to come and hear me preach. The brethren first arranged for 200 people. Our books have left such an impact in Gabon that people want to hear me. We ran out of tickets, and more were printed. The biggest room could take 300 people. It was filled to capacity. There was a small cocktail party; then we started to pepper them with the gospel. For two hours we gave them the whole counsel of God, condemning all sin. After we finished, we said, Those who want to come to Jesus on these terms— breaking with all sin—should come forward. They came forward. I said nobody enters the kingdom of God standing. I knelt down, and they did the same—

    at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:10‒11);

not to the glory of man but to the glory of the Lord. A big man has big sins and needs big forgiveness. So that’s how we started.

The last meeting on Sunday was a healing and deliverance meeting. I want to say that I believe in demons. There was a girl of ten years. She had two people holding her feet and two her hands. She was very powerful. What struck me was the fact that there were seven children running mad with demons. I want you to be comforted. I want you to be strengthened. If you have a problem, blessed are you. Those without problems cannot have answers. Some people are going nowhere because they have no problems.

I don’t like little problems. I like big problems.
