About this ebook

Every architect works according to a plan and is faithful to the plan; faithful to the blueprint.

In the vision that God entrusted to professor Zach Fomum and those He called with him, and to those who will be co-opted, there is a plan in the mind of God.

Solomon put in clearly in describing his role as an executor, and his father David's role as a conceiver. He termed himself the hand of God and he termed his father the mouth of God. What God speaks through some, God accomplishes through others (2 Chronicles 6:4)

Then he said:
"Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, who with his hands has fulfilled what he promised with his mouth to my father David ..."

We present in this book the vision of our work for all whom God has called alongside with us to execute the vision which He entrusted to His servant Zach Fomum and which was faithfully shared with his co-workers.

    INTRODUCTION

The apostle Paul, in his address before Agrippa, proclaimed that he had not been disobedient to the vision from heaven. He proclaimed that he had served according to the heavenly vision.

Moses was also given a vision from heaven and was warned by God to do everything according to what he had seen. If the work is from God, and not according to human ambition, God must do His own talking. God must reveal His will; all that God has not planted shall be uprooted.

Professor Zacharias Tanee Fomum received a distinct call from God, was given a clear vision and conformed to that call. That vision was enlarged and clarified over the years. As a team leader, he addressed himself to the duties that devolved on him personally, and generously shared the vision in its entirety as it had been shown, so that all his co-workers could serve with him in the same spirit, under the same burden, and pursuing the same goal.

That warning of the apostle Paul that as an expert builder, he had laid a foundation, and all who were building on that foundation should be careful, applies to all co-workers.

For those who are co-workers with us, and for all who will become co-workers with us, we offer you our vision as it came out of the lips of the custodian, Brother Zach.

    PART ONE

WHAT IS CHRISTIAN MISSIONARY FELLOWSHIP INTERNATIONAL?

    ON OUR VISION

For those of you, who do not know the vision, let me start mid-way.

Generally speaking, there is a Pharaoh and a Joseph. The Pharaoh is like the receiver of the vision.

God gave the vision of what was to happen to Egypt to Pharaoh. Pharaoh chose Joseph to actualise the vision.

When you start dealing with the sovereign choice of God, you will crumble if you question God.

God chose Pharaoh and gave him the vision.

Pharaoh chose Joseph and gave him the responsibility for its execution. This talks of

the sovereignty of God in the election,

the sovereignty of God in the distribution of grace,

the sovereignty of God in the choice of men and

the sovereignty of God in the placing of men.

God gave the vision to Pharaoh and Pharaoh saw. Then, on the basis of what Pharaoh saw, Joseph worked out a strategy for the salvation of Egypt and Canaan. Whenever you are confused, ask, Who is the Pharaoh and who is the Joseph?

This will solve the problem of your heart and save you from wasting your life.

God showed the pattern to Moses.

I have gone to India nineteen times. During one of the trips, I was asked to go to New Delhi and pray. I spent ten days praying night and day. Then the Lord asked me to go to Varanasi and pray. Varanasi is the spiritual capital of India. One of the greatest temples of Hinduism is there; I did not know this. I went for ten days. Then the Lord told me that I should wrestle with hosts of wickedness in heavenly places that hold billions of people under control. He asked me to dismantle them. He said each needed ten supra-long fasts.

Then the Lord took me into the three most painful experiences of my life. I felt pain from head to toe. I was dying; I was collapsing.

It was horrible. It was horrible.

For two hours, I was in horrible pain. I cannot describe it. I had plugged into the host of Hinduism.¹

After some time, with the same pain but weaker, I entered into contact with the spirit of Buddhism. There was terrible pain all over my being. Then came the last of the hosts. I am not fasting out of pleasure. I like food. Food is good, but fasting is an indispensable weapon of warfare, and God has called me to supra-long fasts.

The first fast was fifty-two days, the next was fifty-six days and this one is going to be eighty days.

Those of you who are older in the ministry battled with the prince of Yaounde,² and he was overthrown. One of the results is that, there are over four hundred new churches in the city (in 2009). We overthrew the prince, but we did not move out to possess the land.

The prince of Douala³ was overthrown, but the brethren did not move out as they ought to have.

We have found grace with God to be given some responsibilities beyond our ministry. For the first seventeen trips to India, we had no ministry of our own there.

We have gone to thirty-three cities in India to teach on prayer.

Some things, brethren, have been shown to me.

I am a kind of Pharaoh.

I am a kind of Moses.

And the way God has done it is to call me to pay a supreme price for what I have seen. I have not said, You, go and do this. And again, just for the senior brethren, that is the difference between the apostle and the prophet. To the prophet, God says, This will happen, and he can go. For the apostle, his life is involved intimately with what he has seen.

I did not know this before I went to Australia last year.

We have been given a vision that includes God's purposes in our generation. We have been given a responsibility to bring a contribution to God's purposes in our generation. Whether it is in India, Australia or Europe, we must bring a contribution within the context of our own ministry, which is the command to go and make disciples; and it involves all the children of God on Planet Earth in our generation.

Brethren, I plead with you to open your hearts and accept the responsibility to which you must each bring your personal contribution concerning:

    the purposes of Jesus Christ in this city;

    the performance in the church in Yaounde;

God’s warfare in our generation; and

this continent that the devil wants to tear into bits with poverty.

You are in Yaounde but you belong to the whole world.

When you put in your one franc, you are no longer the same. You have engaged your heart. Then you will invest your prayers and your fasts.

Don’t tremble because of what God demands from others.

Once, David had to face Goliath on behalf of the nation. That is why we face this task given to us. You have a distinctive contribution to make and influence everyone you can influence. We have found favour; His unmerited favour. But what we do will affect the nations.

So we are moving according to a vision; according to a vision that was given to us but which was also confirmed.

First of all, a Jew came to Bepanda⁴ (where the church in Douala⁵ was meeting at that time), when we were still a small group there. He said he saw the gospel going from Cameroon to all the world. We were too insignificant to deserve such a vision.

Then, as a team of Americans of the organisation called "World Salt Foundation were praying about God's interests globally, a man called Doctor L. B., formerly an army Chaplain, saw a flame leave a spot and filled the world. He got the praying to stop. They went to the map and found that this thing came out of Cameroon. Then they sent somebody to come and see if something was happening in Cameroon that could spread to the whole world. And the man came to Cameroon and did his research. It was in 1979. We had just started the ministry then. He met a missionary who was in Cameroon and was very frustrated because at that point, his work was not moving. It is this American who told him that, if anything would ever happen, it would be related to a certain Doctor Fomum. This man had invited me to speak in a school, and God shook the school. He told the man who had come to look for me that it was impossible to see me. The American said, I delight in doing the impossible." A few days later, he was washing my feet in Douala.

Brethren, a man is not what he talks. He gave me an invitation to America, and that is how I went to the USA in 1980. They wanted to find out if I had the character of a man through whom God could do something.

America is spacious, but he made sure he shared a room with me. He was studying the man.⁶ In the mornings from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m., while I was having my Daily Dynamic Encounters with God, he was sleeping. The world is a sleeping world. It is unfortunate. It was my first trip to America, and by the grace of God, I am not interested in things. On my next visit, he took me to Pat Robinson and I was on CBN⁷. By the grace of God, they had found that my character and life were consistent with something that God could spread to others worldwide.

On my second trip, they offered me Galatians 6:6 worth eight thousand American dollars. Someone gave me metallic silver. The day before I left, God told me to leave everything there. I left everything there. Even the two suits someone bought for me, I sent them back to him.

I begged God to allow me to return with a Revised Standard Version Bible that someone gave me because my Bible was old.

God is going to take what happens to us to the whole world. Even the devil cannot stop it.

There are going to be two revivals. The first one will be ours.

The second one will be beyond our ministry. About it, we will be called to bring a contribution through Daily Dynamic Encounters with God, which will ensure that the revival continues; and through Accountability, to ensure that, people walk with God accountably; an additional contribution to this is the Making of disciples. Those are the three things that CMFI⁸ must contribute to the coming revival and to everything Christian. We shall have to teach people how to have daily dynamic encounters with God, how to make disciples, and how to be accountable.

I have just finished reading a book about revival. I wish I could get one hundred copies and give each of our leaders a copy. Brethren, many revivals were very short-lived. The brethren did not know how to handle them and how to make the revival a continuous movement. It is in preparing things ahead of time that it is done.

Brethren, if in one week, half a million people in this city believe, it will either be a total blessing or total confusion. In Wales⁹ alone in 1904, 180,000 people believed in two months.

That is the vision. We must send our missionaries all over Planet Earth, not to make a name for ourselves, but to pray, win souls and produce a people who will help others in the day of God's visitation.

Imagine if every Presbyterian, every Baptist, or every Evangelical is truly born again in one week! One good thing is that they have Bibles. But somebody will have to teach them how to feed on this manna on a daily basis, how to be a disciple, and so on.

If the Holy Spirit comes down and all the Catholics believe in one go, they will need Bibles. We need to put together a stock of one million bibles.

But God must visit us first and prepare us.

I beg you, do everything to enter into the tornado of God and do everything possible to move the largest number of people to prepare. Tolerate no sin in your life. Kill it or it will kill you. Don't say, God has tolerated this about me over the last ten years. It might now have become a sin unto death.

    Great things are before us.

    ON OUR VISION

Bishop Festus Kivengere was a bishop in the Anglican Church in Uganda.

A few weeks before we came to Cameroon, he laid hands on me and said: God, when brother Zach goes to Cameroon, let every Cameroonian tell him you owe us Jesus. That is why on the 12th of May, 1975 (the next day after arriving in Cameroon), I wrote the tract: How to know Jesus Christ.

In 1979, some Americans saw the star from Cameroon going to the world, and Roger Heims came to Douala, washed my feet and blessed me because they discerned I was associated with what they saw. It has happened.

In the Colorado Springs Prophecy¹ (see Appendix), they saw the massive printing press, books, books, books, tracts, tracts, tracts, a missionary school with missionaries in the thousands going to the world. Then, they saw this massive place of prayer, the Garden of Renown, people moving in all directions and praying, and all the other things that were said.

I said to myself: What Festus Kivengere said has come true. What the brethren saw in the USA is happening. The fifteenth point on that prophecy said: I will shake the house one more time, and some elders will leave. But do not worry. This will happen before the blessings begin." You know what has happened. The rest must happen.

So, I have decided to lay hold on that prophecy and proclaim it.

When the word of blessing comes, you can lay hold on it and believe it, or doubt it and lose it. The prophecies of God are words of God to be laid hold on and brought into reality.

The Colorado Springs Prophecy declared thus: This nation will be blessed with gold, gold, and gold, with millions of dollars coming to the work.

If I were a business man, I would plan a multimillion business in dollars and start watering it in prayer.

¹ Prophecy given for brother Zach by Cindy Jacobs in Colorado Springs USA.

    ON OUR VISION

Do you know what the vision of our ministry is?

Many elders want to have a church in Yaounde of one million people. That is the vision they have. If they saw beyond Yaounde, they would endorse the goal of one billion disciples. They may even contribute sacrificially to it; but that is not their vision.

If you are not married to the book, The Way of Christian Service you can never understand the vision. Again, again and again, God keeps bringing us back to what He showed me in May 1971 as the marks of a work of God.

You see, when the Lord said that a certain brother was not in Christian Missionary Fellowship International and that he had never been, I turned to what he wrote in 1982.

He wanted to start 1000 centres in Yaounde which would be church meeting places. In the message that asked me to excommunicate him, the Lord said he never was in Christian Missionary Fellowship International. Accidentally, I saw what he wrote in 1981 or 1982.

The central thesis of The Way of Christian Service are the things the Lord said to me that weekend. I withdrew while in Uganda for one weekend and I came back a different man. I began to share with the brethren. A woman who had been in Uganda for 24 years drove 400 km to come and see me.

Let me tell you what I am doing now. I am presenting the Tegamnangs (missionary candidates to Namibia at the time) before God. I am saying, God, they have offered to go to the mission field. We want to send them. But are they Your missionaries? Their credentials are good. But God must send them out. God must be the Author. That already is one peculiarity of our vision. God must be the Author. In the way God talked to me that weekend, every day, I understand it better.

Get the spirit of our vision:

But the LORD said to Gideon, "There are still too many men. Take them down to the water, and I will sift them for you there. If I say, ‘This one shall go with you,’ he shall go; but if I say, ‘This one shall not go with you,’ he shall not go. (Judges 7:4)

There are people. The people called to our vision are individually called and given to us. They are people handpicked by God and given by God. It is not a voluntary enterprise. So it is not on the basis of willingness, or on what a man can do, or on what he seems to have.

A work of God must originate in God.

A work of God must fit into God’s purpose.

A work of God must be done by God.

A work of God must be done by the power of the Holy Spirit.

A work of God must be done by men called to it by God.

Consider the examples of Moses, Joshua and Gideon. Each one of them were called by God.

I will need to be taken to heaven to be shown the heavenly model. I was there for 6 hours in 1971.

I cannot just sit and conceive, and let us have a Headquarters based on my imagination. If there is no model of it in heaven, then it should not exist.

This is part of the fear of God. It is part of the distinctiveness of our ministry.

Pray that there would be a place in our hearts for this God and for the method of this God.

What has God called you to do with your life?

Last year, when this question was asked to the elders, 75% of them did not have a clear sense of destiny.

The Lord Jesus Christ says in John 18: 37: You are a king, then! said Pilate. Jesus answered, You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.

A man must know his For this reason, I was born.

For this reason, I came into this world.

That is the sense of destiny.

If you don’t know the reason for which you were born, or if you were born for 1001 things, you are very confused. You have missed it.

Hell has fought to ensure that the brethren never sort this matter out.

Could ten brethren pray that God’s children in our ministry worldwide would settle this issue?

For this reason I was born, for this reason I came into the world.

Father, we pray in the name of Jesus Christ, that this matter of a sense of destiny concerning the call of God on a man’s life would be imparted.

We overthrow principalities, powers, and evil spirits working to ensure that the brethren never settle this matter.

It’s like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with his assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch. (Mark 13:34).

    What is your assigned task?

What are the other distractions for?

In the heavenly model, everything is settled in details.

But demons have not allowed a man to settle on the one thing to which God has called him, for they bring so many other things that look so wonderful, as wonderful as the devil.

Pray that this truth burn in the hearts of all here.

It will take all of your life to finish your assigned task.

Any other thing will ensure that you fail!

A room where anybody entering says, Woe is me if the missionaries do not succeed, is a prayer room. It is a room with an assigned task.

A prayer room with many free periods that people ‘fill’ by meditating and reading the Bible, is not a room of war.

    Yaounde, 28th December, 2004.

WHAT IS CHRISTIAN MISSIONARY FELLOWSHIP INTERNATIONAL?

Christian Missionary Fellowship International is based on the overflow of God content.

The overflow of God content! It is based on men and women who are seekers of God.

O, Christian Missionary Fellowship International is a movement of seekers of God!

    Of seekers of God.

    Of seekers of God.

    Of seekers of God.

    Of seekers of God.

    Of seekers of God.

    And finders of God.

It is a movement of seekers of God.

It is for those who seek God, those who find God, and because they find Him, they know God; and because they know God, they love God; because they love God, they are fulfilled in God; and because they are fulfilled in God, they serve God as an overflow. They serve God as the overflow of God.

It is a company of people who want God at all costs.

It is a company of people whom nothing in the world can satisfy.

God is their only joy, their only satisfaction, their only treasure. God is their all.

They are fulfilled in God. And they serve God as an overflow of love for Him. The love is bubbling, bubbling, bubbling. They don’t need someone to encourage them because the love is bubbling through them.

It is a movement of God possessed people.

It is a movement of God possessed people.

Someone said, À prononcer Ton nom, je me sens vivre. (At the mention of Your name, I come alive).

For the Christian Missionary Fellowship International people, Jesus is everything, His name sweetens.

They beg to give Him their all.

They beg to give Him their all.

Christian Missionary Fellowship International is a movement of people who beg to give God everything.

So, if someone does not want God with all his heart, if all of him is not burning for God, he has no place in Christian Missionary Fellowship International.

He should go and seek some denomination (there are very many of them), and he will be very happy there.

It is a movement of people to whom God is their only reward.

God is their only reward. He is their joy.

It is a movement where hearts meet with God. God is their meeting place; the hunger for God is their meeting place. The thirst for God is their meeting place. They burn to please God.

    That is what we are.

It is a movement of people; who beg to give God all their time, a hundred percent, who beg to give God their wealth one hundred percent.

They are a people begging to give to God; begging, begging, begging, saying: God, take it all. God, take it all. God take it all, because what You don’t take is useless.

Christian Missionary Fellowship International is a movement of people who have beheld the glory of God, and the Lord has charmed their hearts.

Whatever you are talking about, they hear: Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. They look all over, they see the glory of the Lord. They see people who want Jesus and they give everything to win those people at all costs.

If they are told You will die at the airport, they say, That is the quickest way to heaven. That is what Christian Missionary Fellowship International is all about.

Maybe you have come into it by accident. And it is a burden to you. Today, leave!

    They are a people who are;

begging to give God every inch of their time,

    every possible euro,

every iota of their intelligence and

every bit of their creative capacities.

And for Him, they have sacrificed everything. They have sacrificed father, mother, children, all, all, all, in order that they may win Christ and be found in Him, with Christ as their only possession.

So, a leader in Christian Missionary Fellowship International is a leader in seeking God.

He is mad about seeking God.

    He concentrates on seeking God.

    He concentrates on finding God.

    He concentrates on knowing God.

    He concentrates on loving God.

Jesus has fulfilled him. He begs to invest his all to please God. And the offers of the world are dumped.

    Paul says:

What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish that I may gain Christ… (Philippians 3:8)
