About this ebook

In this book, Professor Fomum stresses the indispensability of spiritual power to accomplish the great commission of taking the glorious gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to every human being. God's purposes are tied to spirit-filled men and women; people on whom the Holy Spirit has come.

Can God depend on you for His global and end time purposes as far as the salvation of multitudes is concerned?

Using the Biblical examples of Gideon, Jephthah, Samson, King Saul, David, and the Lord Jesus, as well as his personal testimony, the author shows clearly that it is when the Holy Spirit came on them that they received power to accomplish God's call.

This book can be a real stimulus for you to rise to heights with God and move forward with Him.

Read it and become restless until you are clothed with and function exclusively under the power from on high—the power for service.

Power For Service - Zacharias Tanee Fomum

    INTRODUCTION

The book of the Acts of the Apostles begins as follows:

In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. After his suffering, he showed himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the Kingdom of God. On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptised with water, but in a few days you will be baptised with the Holy Spirit. So when they met together, they asked him, Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel? He said to them: It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:18).

Man was lost and God decided to do something about it: He sent Jesus Christ into the world. What did He send Him for? In 1 Timothy 1:15, you find in clear terms the mission of Jesus Christ on earth. It says,

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst.

He came into the world, to save sinners. I say it again; Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.

The salvation of sinners has always been on God's heart. So Jesus Christ came, died on the cross for the salvation of man. When Jesus had fulfilled this purpose it was time for him to go back to his Father. His mission was accomplished. On the cross, he said, "It is finished." He had saved sinners. He had paid the price. Sinners could now come back to the Father.

    ALL CAN BE SAVED

But this message had to go to everybody, so that they might come into the salvation of God. I want to insist that it is in the purpose of God, that every human being should come into the salvation of our God. There is not one human being on earth that was outside the redemptive purpose of God. Jesus Christ died on the cross for every human being. The price has been paid for the salvation of human beings. From God's point of view, it has been done.

The blood that cleanses from all sin has been shed for every human being on planet earth. The judgement that each person deserved for his sin had been lain on Christ. Every human being on earth is a potential saint. We say it again, that every human being on earth is a potential saint. The sin of every human being on earth has been atoned for.

    THE DIVINE CHARGE

Because of what Jesus Christ did on the cross, when He was going back to His Father, He left a charge:

Then Jesus came to them and said, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age (Matthew 28:18-20).

The Lord said to them, Go and make disciples of all nations. It was disciples of all nations. He sent them to every nation. They were to baptise in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. It was not to be only in the name of Jesus. That is a heresy. It was to be in the name of the Triune God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Could I also add that it was not:

a first plunge into water in the name of the Father,

a second plunge into water in the name of the Son and

a third plunge into water in the name of the Holy Spirit.

It had to be one plunging into water, in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Then they were to be taught to obey everything God had commanded the apostles. We may state their task below:

They were to be taught to obey everything that God had taught them, including the fact that the disciples were to go and make disciples of all nations. It had to continue in this manner.

They were to teach the disciples to obey everything. They were not to obey only some things, or only what was comfortable, or only that which was convenient. The disciples were to be taught to obey everything. They had themselves to go and make disciples of all nations. Do you make disciples? Do you teach your disciples to go and make disciples of all nations?

    A LOCAL APPLICATION

This message is being given to the church in Yaounde, where most people, by a special work of Satan, are not allowed to see the other nations. The vision of the other nations is not communicated to all the disciples in the church in Yaounde. This is the tragedy of the church in Yaounde. We have the following funds:

    The General Fund

    The International Missionary Fund

    The National Missionary Fund

    The Project Fund.

Few, only few, in the church in Yaounde give faithfully to any of these funds for the missionaries. Few come to pray during the World Conquest Prayer Nights. The disciple makers have been blinded by the devil to the needs of the other nations. Parents are blinded. Their children do not give for the gospel to be taken to the nations.

On the other hand, the church in Yaounde must prosper this year, even if all of hell rose against her. I say this because there was a prophetic gift made to world conquest for Christ by the church in Yaounde at the beginning of this year, 2004. The elders gave 100% of all what came into the coffers of the church in January, to World Conquest for Christ. They decided to put in all of January's income, so that the gospel may reach the other nations. Listen, money is an instrument of prophecy.

Brother, how could the devil have blinded you so that you do not see the fact that God's purposes are tied to the whole world? They are tied to the gospel that must be taken to all the nations. How could you have failed to see this? If you cannot see all the nations, you are a spiritual dwarf. If a man is very small, he will see himself and will invest much into himself. If he sees a bit more, he will see his family, and invest accordingly. If he goes a bit more, he will see his quarter, and do everything in
