In My Darkest Hour I Found The Light

I was inspired to publish this mainly by my granddaughter. I had been writing for a few years already. The material was on three-by-five notebooks. My granddaughter gathered these notebooks and wanted to put them in a book for our family. While transferring the material form notebooks to paper, she suggested that I should try to get them published. That was about a year ago. So, I decided to see if someone was willing to take a chance, and Christian Publishing came up. Many of my poems were inspired by and the writing started while attending church service. I personally believe that the Holy Spirit was involved in some of these, if not all of these writings. They are about the constant battle between good and evil or darkness and light. For those who believe, it is an inspiration to continue and share belief when appropriate. The unbelievers will most likely never even look at this. Maybe it will inspire someone to turn to God and find the peace in the showdown of his light. The philosophical part are the "TO BE" verses. These may cause some to have a deeper thought about things we may witness on a daily basis. Most are common sense, some have more than one train of thought, and others are kind of blunt. Some the poems are political in nature while others have a different aspect, all the while keeping in mind of Satan trying to inspire people to turn from God. The universal love of God and the giving of his life for each of us who believe, allows us to start a new life through Jesus Christ who suffered and died for our sin.

Went to church today

What do I seek

When talking with God, I’ll try to be meek

Master of deception

You know of who I talk

Truth is not his perception

The path of God he does not walk

In truth, we should live

To God’s path we adhere

Of compassion, we give

The truth is our fare

Always be true

To the master everlasting

Truth found in a few

Get close to God by prayer and fasting

The truth is always there

Something we should all share

About truth we should care

The truth is sometimes hard to bare

OBSTINATE

Some people are stubborn

God, they will not acknowledge

They will not be born again

Even when on death’s edge

To resist his presence

With evidence, all around

They miss the spiritual essence

In beauty God’s creation is not bound

They are atheist

Or maybe agnostic

Could be a theorist

Their words are at times caustic

Their works may be fine

Just not in God’s name

They can be very kind

Souls may be lost, what a shame

Christian duty to tell

Is all that’s required

Should not be a hard sell

If eternal life is desired

BORN AGAIN

Again, I have been born

Jesus Christ as savior I accept

My soul no longer forlorn

For the Lord, only love and respect

Flesh is made into word

Jesus Christ was a man

Words of forgiveness often not heard

Love is the way of the lamb

Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost

Faith is the only way

With faith, we get the most

About what God has to say

God speaks in a small voice

When you expect it least

You always have a choice

On his word, we should feast

Death shadow will disappear

If we are baptized and repent

In living light, it cannot appear

His love I will never resent

God and Christ, we remember

With holy communion

To remember us as a member

Of his holy union

TRUTH

To the Lord I pray

Both day and night

Does he listen to what I say

I pray out of sight

When with God I speak

Not with brain but heart

It is mercy that I seek

I should try to do my part

I want to be connected

With God in the spirit

I pray to be selected

Not attained without merit

Truth is not a lie

To some it’s hard to accept

The devil can be sly

With truth, he has no concept

It is hard to stay silent

If truth is hard to impose

With truth, be content

If the lies, it will expose

LEAD THE WAY

Christian, I have become

In Jesus, I believe

I tithe from my income

His blessings I receive

Christianity should not stop
