January 1

Life In His Love

As we follow in Christ's footsteps,

heavy, can become our cross,

caring for those who are sick and in need,

being witnesses to the lost.

When injustice may befall you,

we must learn to let it be,

because it is His name at stake,

but the world sees you and me.

There will be times when,

it seems no further can you go,

feeling as though you're all alone,

still, let the love show.

Although, you may sometimes think,

that He is no longer there,

by our hand are we being led,

for He knows what we can bear.

To have the abundant life we seek,

it is all, that we must give,

speaking and walking in the truth,

in us His word must live.

JOHN 15:7

If ye abide in me, and my words

abide in you, ye shall ask

what ye will, and it shall

be done unto you.

A Whisper in the Ear

We can feel the wind blow,

but unable are we to see,

nevertheless, it is the very thing,

that sustains you and me.

As the wind God’s voice can be gentle,

just a soft whisper in the ear,

and when the ruffle of life distracts us,

it is impossible for us to hear.

Even though His voice can be as thunder,

He chooses to whisper in our ear,

unlikely to make His children alarmed,

for gentleness causes no fear.

So keep the line from heaven open,

let nothing turn your ears away,

and questions you may have at each mornings' start,

His voice will guide you through the day.

I THESSALONIANS5:19

Quench not the Spirit.

Just Look Around You

If there should ever come a time,

when one may not know what to do,

to be reassured that the Lord is near,

pause, and just look around you.

Think about the rain,

how it makes the herbs grow,

imagine all those shades of green,

why so many, we don't know.

Feel the cool wind blow,

so gently upon your face,

it is the very essence of life,

yet it leaves not a trace.

Watch the eagles soar,

amongst the clouds in the sky,

take a minute to think about,

why they build their nests so high.

When the sun rises and sets,

you'll know that God is near,

so keep your stride in this life,

for there is no need to fear.

II TIMOTHY 1:7

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear: but of power,

and of love, and of a sound mind.

January 4

Fear Not

In life the winds can be contrary,

seems all trouble has come your way,

you look for a light but it can't be found,

there's only darkness to fill your day.

Overwhelmed, have you become,

as you trudge on through this trial,

and what may seem like an eternity,

is really just a little while.

God is all knowing and merciful,

and your plight He surely sees,

in time will He come to the rescue,

all the pain, He will ease.

Know that you are not alone,

no matter what you're going through,

for though it may be raining just now,

He'll turn your gray sky to blue.

JOHN 6:20

But he saith unto them

It is I; be not afraid.

January 5

Spiritual Symphony

Upon the dawning of creation,

when the Lord made heaven and earth,

unlike in form did He make them all,

but none of greater or lesser worth.

A unique purpose had He in mind,

while designing took place of each,

such as the fierceness of the lion,

and the limitlessness of the giraffes' reach.

The eagle can soar amongst the clouds,

and the whale can dive to the oceans' floor,

a hummingbird has a special beak,

to get nectar from a flowers core.

.He made the sun for light by day,

and the moon was formed for the night,

and even though man was formed last,

upon him was bestowed all the might.

All people are not the same,

and that's how He meant for it to be,

knowing then that we're all His,

we should live as a spiritual symphony.

ROMANS 12:5

So we, being many are one body in

Christ and everyone members one of another.

January 6

Are You with Me?

I'm someone who lost their home,

I'm in traction with a broken backbone,

I once could see, but now I'm blind,

I'm on the verge of losing my mind,

I had a child on the bus that crashed,

I'm the one hit when that lightning flashed,

I'm a person with a missing child,

I saw my brother fall from a mile,

I was one who got laid off my job,

I'm the clerk that was shot when my store was robbed,

I found out I've got cancer with three months to live,

I have the right blood for a transfusion, but none to give,

I am dealing with a spouse on drugs,

I'm the one whose daughter was raped by thugs,

I live in a shack, and it's freezing outside,

I'm grieving because my father just died,

I hope and pray, none of this you'll ever see,

I have this misfortune; are you with me?

EPHESIANS 2:4

Look not every man on his own things,

but everyman also on the things of others.

January 7

When the Waters Calm

So long does it seem,

that you've been going through,

and the times have been many,

you didn't know what to do.

Calling every ounce of faith,

that you have left inside,

seems like you're being torn into,

and countless tears have you cried.

But it's just these things,

through which we must come,

and the road can be longer,

for others, then some.

Remember what the Word says,

in Gilead, there is a balm,

for in time God will heal your land,

and you'll rejoice when the waters calm.

PROVERBS 13: 12

Hope deferred maketh the heart sick:

but when the desire cometh,

it is a tree of life.

Stewardship

We all as Christians,

have been given things to do,

and what He may have given to one,

just wasn't meant for me or you.

That doesn't mean that your gift,

is more important than mine,

because we are just the branches,

and only Jesus is the true vine.
