God Is Not

I was inspired to publish this mainly by my granddaughter. I had been writing for a few years already. The material was on three-by-five notebooks. My granddaughter gathered these notebooks and wanted to put them in a book for our family. While transferring the material from notebooks to paper, she suggested that I should try to get them published. That was about a year ago. So I decided to see if someone was willing to take a chance, and Christian Publishing came up. Many of my poems were inspired by and the writing started while attending church service. I personally believe that the Holy Spirit was involved in some of these, if not all of these writings. They are about the constant battle between good and evil or darkness and light. For those who believe, it is an inspiration to continue and share belief when appropriate. The unbelievers will most likely never even look at this. Maybe it will inspire someone to turn to God and find the peace in the shadow of his light. The philosophical part is the "TO BE" verses. These may cause some to have a deeper thought about things we may witness on a daily basis. Most are common sense, some have more than one train of thought, and others are kind of blunt. Some of the poems are political in nature while others have a different aspect, all the while keeping in mind of Satan trying to inspire people to turn from God. The universal love of God and the giving of his life for each of us who believe allow us to start a new life through Jesus Christ who suffered and died for our sin.

CONCEPT

It is not something new

Having something to believe in

There is only one that is true

One God that forgives sin

It is new to some

But not a new concept

Practicing this can be fun

But some will never accept

It would be a great defeat

For some to turn away

From their life and their God, they retreat

And return to Christ someday

By faith we receive

Jesus through the holy ghost

Satan will try to deceive

Careful on who you trust the most

Forgiveness of sin is no deception

Accept Christ and repent

Believe in the virgin conception

You will have a life well spent

IDOL

If you are idolized

By someone

You must have realized

A need to walk with God’s son

For if you are not

The one who sways

You may learn a lot

Of Satan’s many ways

Try to not be an idol

But to Christ you should lead

For you may be liabel

When their soul is freed

An idolater is searching

For something to look up to

Their always reaching

For what they have not a clue

Maybe their idol will

To Christ lead them

And their soul to seal

To dwell forever with him

OINTMENT

When you have an ache

That stops your enjoyment

Oh, for goodness sake

Grab the ointment

As we get more mature

We get pain in our calves

It’s just second nature

To grab the salve

Instead of ointment

It doesn’t give relief

What a disappointment

Take aspirin to help your grief

Aspirin isn’t what I need

Ointment on area I spread

Of pain, I’m not freed

To see a doctor, I dread

To a doctor I’ll go

The diagnosis I fear

I won’t let it show

Can’t talk, I shed a tear

Diagnosis is reached

As suspected from the start

A contract has been breached

Ointment doesn’t help a broken heart

MADMAN

How does a person know

If it’s evil their doing?

Does somebody need to show

That they always have a conflict brewing?

They have no sense of wrong

Or of what is right

To the lord of darkness, they belong

Any evidence of God is kept out of sight

They only seek power

Total and complete

They stand in and speak from a tower

On evil, they replete

In them is no justice

Unless they agree

They would arrest us

Under them, you are not free

Evil men will always exist

Those who prefer darkness

To do good they resist

They are Satan’s likeness

TO BE

To be cognitive

To be clueless

One can cause fear

The other can make one fearless

To be pellucid

To be opaque
