About this ebook
I was inspired to publish this mainly by my granddaughter. I had been writing for a few years already. The material was on three-by-five notebooks. My granddaughter gathered these notebooks and wanted to put them in a book for our family. While transferring the material from notebooks to paper, she suggested that I should try to get them published. That was about a year ago. So I decided to see if someone was willing to take a chance, and Christian Faith Publishing came up. Many of my poems were inspired while attending church service. I personally believe that the Holy Spirit was involved in some, if not all, of these writings. They were about the constant battle between good and evil or darkness and light. For those who believe, it is an inspiration to continue and share belief when appropriate. The unbelievers will most likely never even look at this. Maybe it will inspire someone to turn to God and find the peace in the showdown of his light. The philosophical parts are the "To Be" verses. These may cause some to have a deeper thought about things we may witness on a daily basis. Most are common sense, some have more than one train of thought, and others are kind of blunt. Some of the poems are political in nature while others have a different aspect, all the while keeping in mind Satan trying to inspire people to turn from God. The universal love of God and the giving of his life for each of us who believe allows us to start a new life through Jesus Christ, who suffered and died for our sin.

Line of One - Jerry Warren
Light
We are always trying
To find our way
In the dark shades
And how much we are relying
On the sun in the day
We watch as in the western sky it fades
We will miss the sun
There is no denying
We can’t see to find our way
Will welcome it back from where it laid
The light of the Son
With darkness, it’s vying
We bask in the rays
A new sight for believers He made
For another God
We will not trade
Promise
It’s just words
So much blather
Can’t be talking birds
Unless their birds of a feather
If a promise is made
Those words should stand alone
To break it should make you afraid
Eye to eye or on a phone
A handshake is a greeting
Or it can seal a deal
At the end of a meeting
Depends on how you feel
A promise that’s broken
As in your wedding vow
A heart is forsaken
What do you do, now?
God has made a promise
For those who believe
One that I cannot dismiss
Broken promise, I can’t conceive
Can one ever be forgiven?
For a promise not kept
To God, not a way to be living
Punishment one graciously accepts
Fabulous
What does it mean?
It’s hard to describe
Depends how it may lean
To mind or body we ascribe
Many ways to think
Not two minds alike
One as quick as a blink
Another sharp as a spike
They are fabulous
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
That is what some say
Some look better as they get older
For beauty, other people pray
It is fabulous
Just to be admired
A job done well
To surpass one’s desired
In admiration, you dwell
That moment is fabulous
An artfully painted picture
Or a story well told
Get some use from a lecture
Be accepted into a fold
Things are fabulous
God is the world creator
Our sin He forgave us
Satan is a traitor
God is FABULOUS
Agape
A surprise expression
The mouth hung open
Maybe learned a new lesson
Agape is what you have been
Love has a different term
It is one of endearment
Feeling of one is very firm
No matter what the environment
Agape love is eternal
It is God’s love forever
His love is both internal and external
Love exists, it’s not an endeavor
When self-love
Is equal to that of guest
Agape is from above
A love only God can manifest
To imagine I cannot
A love that is omnipresent
A love everyone has sought
The love of the omnipotent
Refuge
If you’re looking for?
A place where you feel
Wanted and it’s not a bore
Refuge in a church is real
A bottle is a common choice
Not a satisfactory fulfilling
