About this ebook
I was inspired to publish this mainly by my granddaughter. I had been writing for a few years already. The material was on three-by-five notebooks. My granddaughter gathered these notebooks and wanted to put them in a book for our family. While transferring the material from notebooks to paper, she suggested that I should try to get them published. That was about a year ago. So I decided to see if someone was willing to take a chance, and Christian Faith Publishing came up.
Many of my poems were inspired while attending church service. I personally believe that the Holy Spirit was involved in some, if not all, of these writings. They were about the constant battle between good and evil or darkness and light. For those who believe, it is an inspiration to continue and share belief when appropriate. The unbelievers will most likely never even look at this. Maybe it will inspire someone to turn to God and find the peace in the shadow of his light.
The philosophical parts are the "To Be" verses. These may cause some to have a deeper thought about things we may witness on a daily basis. Most are common sense, some have more than one train of thought, and others are kind of blunt.
Some of the poems are political in nature while others have a different aspect, all the while keeping in mind Satan trying to inspire people to turn from God.
The universal love of God and the giving of his life for each of us who believe allows us to start a new life through Jesus Christ, who suffered and died for our sin.

The Scarlet Cord - Jerry D. Warren
Exercise
To exercise is to act
By physical or mental aspirations
Sedentary, it will attack
With physical inclinations
An exercise in futility
Movement with no gain
No plan for utility
May be a cause to go insane
For most mechanical equipment
Exercise helps prevent erosion
For proper function requirement
Keeps connection free of corrosion
Muscle and bone needs
Exercise of a different sort
Prolonged inactivity breeds
A bad medical report
There is a spiritual exercise
That is somewhat ritualistic
The performance of an exorcise
Removal of evil is realistic
We exercise in worship
Of Christ and the Father
With bowed head in prayer we slip
Connected with a spiritual tether.
Rainbow
God’s promise to the world
After the great flood
Destruction is unfurled
Unless you’re saved by His blood
At rainbow’s end
Pot of gold it’s said
At one end, I have been
Must be the other end instead
Through the vapor
Of the distant rain
A rainbow will appear
Beauty of God’s domain
The beauty of God’s creation
Hard to describe, in awe
Fills me with much elation
In it I find no flaw
There was a radical movement
Known as rainbow collation
Trying for government improvement
Not sure if they came to fruition.
Magical
Have you ever looked back
To review what has occurred
Description it may lack
Any chance it may have recurred?
Was it magical?
There is a spontaneous moment
A scene appears that you knew
Not something you did invent
It is called déjà vu
It is magical
The lightest touch
In moments of duress
Can affect feelings so much
That love will do the rest
It is magical
When two people meet
And they instantly relate
Love is their treat
They may be soul mates
It is magical
God is always there
He is waiting for you
His love He wants to share
So, you can be born anew
It is magical.
Good Enough
A phrase we often hear
That it is good enough
Thinking on it makes me fear
Do engineers use a measurement this rough?
Engineers using principles of physics
Design an aircraft to fly
Precise mathematical basics
Most people know not how or why
Good enough may be alright
If nothing will be harmed
If the pain is dull or bright
Cause for little alarm
Some things require
Being more precise
Close is not a desire
If it needs to be more precise
Good enough, we are not
On our own, we can never be
Christ stands in the slot
