Never thought I would be able to produce one more after Another Mistake, Pearls Journey and Lost in Love. I dedicate these Pearls Short Stories to those who still always support me, love me with all their heart and never forget me.

I have many mistakes, have many sins and flaws, but I am grateful to those of you who are still loyal to me, accept me with all my flaws.

For those who have crossed paths in my story but only temporarily, thank you very much for being in my story, thank you for giving meaning to my life whether it's sad, happy or misery. Whatever it is, for me everything happens for a reason, whether you learn from my story or I learn from yours.

Give Me One More Chance, Arianna

Arianna stared into the distance while leaning her body against the bench. There weren't many people there because it was too hot but she didn't care. She always loved being there. That park was not far from her office and today she chose to skip her lunch and distract herself by being there.

Michael was the cause of all that. Her feelings were a mess because of him. Two year ago they accidentally met. Michael, a handsome man with curly hair, tall with white skin and thick eyebrows, suddenly appeared in her life.

Michael is a photographer and at the time they were at a big event and she accidentally bumped into him. She had not expected that he would engage her in conversation.

They only chatted for a moment but at the end of the event suddenly they met again and Michael asked for her number. At first she refused and he was a little pushy but in the end she gave in and they exchanged their numbers.

After that day, Arianna actually never expected that they would be able to talk again, she had even forgotten about him until suddenly a few days later Michael contacted her.

She responded him casually because she thought maybe Michael was just doing that out of loneliness or maybe he was looking for her to make friends.

Arianna is a woman who is not young anymore. She was too busy pursuing her career until forget that she had to find someone to be her partner. Her mom always nagged her about it.

Do you know how old you are, Arianna? She said while glaring to her

Arianna sipped her water while sighing. She had listened to this a million times and she was always amazes for her mother's thoughts.

Everything has its time, Mom and I haven't been interested in that, Ariana said nonchalantly.

Her mother kept nagging but she chose not to ignore all that.

Arianna is not an ugly woman. Her hair is long, her body is slightly plump. Her skin is brown with a mole on her right lip making her look attractive. She is sociable and easy to socialize.

When Michael came into her life, she considered him just like others. She is able to get along with anyone but when it comes to partner matters, she is very picky.

Due to his work, he often gone like ghost, but he often showed Arianna photos of his work to her. Arianna used to think that he was showing her the photos because maybe he liked doing that.

He showed care and concern for her every time they talked but Arianna thought, he was only doing it because he liked doing it.

But when he did it time after time, her self-defense started to crumble. She loved all the attention, care and affection that he showed. Somehow, Michael knew how to win her heart.

Until one day when Arianna just got home from work, Michael suddenly called her just to show her the first snowfall. Michael's action really touched her heart and that's the time she knew that she fell in love with him.

At first she tried to hide her feelings by trying to stay away from him. But he didn't give up and kept chasing Arianna which made her melt.

Don't ever walk away from me He grumbled

You sucks Arianna pursed her lips

Michael stared at her deeply lovingly then whispered I love you

Arianna stared back in disbelief You took the wrong medicine today?

I love you He repeated again

Arianna was speechless, could only stare at him who kept smirking while staring back at her.

The thing that she hated the most was that Michael often disappeared without informing her beforehand. Actually Arianna could understand that but sometimes when she needed him, she couldn't find him.

Arianna knew that Michael's nature was too free, he didn't want to be restrained and he was too independent, which made him feel that he didn't need to inform anyone, but Arianna was still a woman who sometimes worried too much because she loved him too much.

It's just that every time she sulks and he comes back, he knows how to melt her heart instantly and make her not sulk anymore.

She shifted her gaze to the coffee she placed next to it. She took it and sipped her coffee while enjoying the aroma of her favorite coffee. If it wasn't for Michael, things wouldn't be like this, she cursed. There was a part of her that made her regret falling into him.

She could never understand the reason she could ended up falling in love with someone as cold, carelessly as him.

She was deep in thought there for a while. Suddenly she gasped, patted her head and looked at her watch. Damn, I was almost late getting back to the office, she thought.

That watch was her favorite watch because reminded her of Michael. She gave Michael that for his birthday present and she bought the same brand for herself.

Thinking about him only pisses me off more. Still don't understand why he has to be in my story and stupidly I ended up falling in love with him, she sighed while cursing herself.

Arianna's biggest fear is that Michael want to be with her only for friends with benefits. He doesn't want to open up much about himself.

Arianna never forced him but if he didn't want to open up to her, it meant a lot of things that he hide and the worst part was he didn't fully trust her and that was what made her always doubt that Michael really loved her.

She took one last sip of her coffee then stood up and threw away her coffee cup. She still had enough time to walk back to her office. The weather is not too hot and she feels much better now than before.

When she reached her office, Tia, her coworker was waiting for her. Her face looked tense and panicked. Arianna looked at her in confusion

What happened Tia? She said as she walked closer to her

Boss is looking for you. It seems urgent. He's been waiting for you. I tried to call you, but you left your phone on the table With a horrified face and she looks very tense

She smiled to calm her as she gently patted her shoulder Everything will be fine, Tia. Maybe there is work that he wants me to do as soon as possible

Tia just nodded weakly as Arianna walked past her towards her boss's office.

Tom is middle aged but still looks very fit and he has lots of gray hair. He was writing when Arianna walked into his office. When seven years ago she applied to his office, he was amazed by her first impression. She looked confident and the answers that she gave were satisfying Tom.

At that time she had just graduated from her baccalaureate and she was still newbie. Over time, Arianna showed everyone that she is reliable, she is hardworking and persistent. Tom was satisfied that his prediction about her was proven right.

He is not wrong in choosing people, all the work that given to her is always done well and she never shirks her responsibility for her work and that's why in a short time Tom made her one of his confidants.

Tom was looking for her, it must be something very important and urgent.

You looking for me, Tom? Arianna said softly as she closed the door behind her.

You're finally back. Where have you been? he said as he kept his head down

I just had lunch in the park, it's just that I forgot to bring my phone she said as she took a seat.

He stopped writing, tilted his head up to look at Arianna. His face looks worried

I just got info from our branch office. They want me to go there because a new problem has arisen and they don't know what to do about it. I want you to replace me to come there and see the situation. He sighed

She looked at Tom expressionlessly When do you want me to go there?

He took off his glasses then massaged his forehead Tomorrow I have to go to Paris and I can't put it off anymore. The case in Paris is much more complicated while for this case, I still don't know how bad the situation is. That's why I asked you to investigate first. If the situation is precarious, I have no other choice. But in the meantime, you're the one in charge for that

Arianna nodded in understanding I'll do it. I'll ask Tia to collect the materials and I'll study the situation first.

If it’s possible, go there this week or next week at the latest. he said as he tapped his finger on the table

I'll do it soon she said as she stood up

It seems that this case will take up a lot of your time and attention. As far as I remember, you haven't taken your leave this year, have you?

Arianna frowned as she looked at him You're right, I haven't taken my time off this year because I don't think I need it yet

Arianna grinned You don't have to do that Tom. I don't need that right now

Arianna shook her head with a smile then turned and walked out of Tom's office.

She straight told Tia to collect all the details about that branch. She knew that she couldn't delay for that.

She just leaned back in her chair, her phone beeped. When she checked, Michael sent her a photo, his habits. All she knew from Michael, he was a silent person and the way he told her about his activities was through his photos.

He's doing a photo shoot. Arianna rolled her eyes as she put away her phone.

She was preoccupied with the documents that Tia gave her. Tia is someone she can rely on. It didn't take her long time to get all the detailed information about the branch that she needed.

The documents caught her attention. She has a lot to learn in a short amount of time and luckily she has shed some light on the situation. The problem is not as bad as she predicts.

She breathed a sigh of relief as she leaned back in her chair while staring out the window, it was already dark. She looked outside her room, not many people were still there.

Suddenly a sharp stomach ache hit her. The pain was unbearable and made it hard for her to breathe. She held her stomach tightly while wincing in pain.
