She left the Congo a year after her graduation from high school in December 2010 to pursue her education in the US. Before attending college, she studied English to meet the requirements of the college she went to. Learning English made Lorraine Pemba fall in love with literature, which fueled her passion to become a writer. She was inspired to write this fiction book Desperate because of what happened to many children living in abusive homes. According to her, those children’s voices are not heard until their abductors are caught.
Through this book, Lorraine Pemba would like to tell all those people who were abused or bully during their childhood by their entourage not to be let down. Instead, they should keep their heads up high and focus on positivity on what life can bring to them.view less
