Since she divorced, Queen Elizabeth II has refused the royal protection squad. Henri Paul loses control of his car as it careens toward a tunnel under the Pont de l'Alma. April 20, 1978 London

Lady Diana Spencer's sister Jane is marrying Robert Fellowes, the queen's assistant private secretary. Both the bride and groom are closely tied to the royal family.
