About this ebook

Do you wish life were a bit more peaceful and uplifting? This is possible with a traumatic brain injury - even with a traumatic brain injury. Christ can provide us with calmness and contentment when we feel crazy.

Those of us facing a traumatic brain injury would often appreciate it if the world would simply press pause so that we would have time to catch up with all that is transpiring around us. However, pushing the pause-button is generally not an option.

Patina Malinalli is an up and coming author who published her first eBook, What Can I Do Now That I Have a Traumatic Brain Injury? in 2021.  She has an interest in reaching out to people who face a traumatic brain injury like the one she herself sustained in a car accident.  Pursing Peacefulness in Christ focuses on how we can pursue peace in times of trauma.

    Why is Peace Elusive?

How often do you feel at peace?

Some people will instantly say, I am busy all the time! There’s no time to relax. This may be true, but it’s still possible to feel at peace despite your full schedule and the high risk you may face in your workplace. You could be serving in the military or be on the police force, or be working in the medical field (whether as a nurse’s aide or in an ER amid a world-shattering health crisis) and feel that peace is elusive. Yet it doesn’t have to be that way any longer.

If you are lacking peace, I want to show you where to find it and how to continue to experience it. But first let me tell you that peace is not found in a place, but in a Person – the Lord Jesus Christ.

Where My Search for Peace Began

When I was 17, I pulled out in front of a car on my drive home from a horse farm. I was hit on the driver’s side and incurred a traumatic brain injury and some bruises, but no broken bones. I have definitely been blessed by the Lord, not only because I survived and my body wasn’t completely broken, but as I continue to face medical issues that are a result of my traumatic brain injury. It was a blessing that I was able to graduate from high school on time and graduate from college with a bachelor’s degree. It took me an extra year — but I still did it! Finding a job has had its ups and downs, but I’ve realized when I wasn’t able to find work that having a job might have overly complicated my life. I was exactly where I needed to be, precisely when I needed to be there — even if I didn’t realize it at the moment. That’s how the Lord works! And that’s the kind of peace you can find even when it feels like life is chaotic all around you. Various circumstances can rob you and me of peace. So, let’s look at how to experience peace in every area
