    I really liked this book. I knew zero about Genetics before I read it. I was wondering the following things when I started reading it:- What is a chromosome?- How is DNA encoded? (more from a signal point of view -- gene start sequence, stop sequence, symbol cardinality, error correction).- Where is the DNA kept? (This isn't as dumb as it sounds. Turns out there is DNA in the Mitochondria).- How are bacteria used to make specific protiens and chemicals?- How does DNA sequencing work?- How does DNA finger printing work?The book answered all these questions. I also like the questions in the back of each chapter. They help stop me from glossing over the information in the chapter and pick out what's important.Looking at a used Genetics text book that I bought at half priced books. It looks like the book leaves out a lot of specifics but captures the high points.
