Introduction
Hello and welcome! I’m Michelle Loucadoux, and this is Getting More Done,
a course from Scribd. Thank you for joining me. Let’s not waste any time!
These days, it seems as though there’s a growing interest in how to be more productive — the desire to get more done is more popular than ever. And, as a matter of fact, there’s a veritable industry that’s sprung up around teaching people how to do just that.
Maybe you’ve sought out advice like this before, maybe you’ve tried all the hacks, and maybe you’ve even put in the hard work and effort to get more done — but, somehow, it still feels like it’s never enough. Many of us find ourselves going to bed wishing that we had accomplished more during the day, even if we’re already doing as much as we can. It can leave us asking ourselves, What gives? What am I missing here?
The answer lies in intention. There’s something to be said for figuring out exactly what you want from life, why you want it, and then getting detailed and realistic about what it takes to achieve those goals.

They know what they’re going to do before they do it, because they know that if they make these decisions ahead of time, they can afford to make more purposeful choices about how to spend their time. High performers are willing to pivot when needed, but their day always starts with planning and intention. They know if they leave things to chance or bend to every whim or bout of laziness, they’ll get less done.
And they don’t pull any punches. Being specific and consistent is important. Many successful individuals will plan their entire days and will get as strict as they need to be — especially when it comes to when they wake up, when they go to bed, and how they rest in between.
Don’t get me wrong: I, for one, like
