Pre-First
Sept. 2006
Today is Sunday, after church I’ve been to visit Nick.
His first full week in pre-first.
My was I surprised!
He sat right down and read to me a rhyming book and then.
He showed me all his paper work.
Wow! I didn’t know that he could add.
He has learned so much.
He prints his numbers and letter of the alphabet.
Everything was so neat except when he colors with black or brown
He scribbles like he is playing in the dirt.
He will have to practice coloring neatly this week while he is at work.
His teacher is Miss Donna.
His new friend is D J.
His friend Cole from Kindergarten he still sees when they go out to play.
Of course when I first got to his house I could see a change in him.
Acting like a smarty pants, covers his ears like I’m not listening you know what I mean.
After a while he settled down and spent some time with me.
I got several hugs but no kisses.
Those are only for his Daddy.
He works out of town and that’s who he misses.
This week Daddy will be in town to work.
He’ll get to see him every morning and evening to.
This weeks Daddy’s birthday, we will have lots of fun.
Cake and ice cream and soda pop.
Lots of candles on the cake.
We’ll be celebrating first rate.
I told Nick about the Princess running off with my church shoes.
I chased her with the fly swatter and out the door she ran.
I looked around and finally found the shoe on the floor by the couch.
Since Fall has come she is very frisky and loves to jump.
Not on me please I say.
You are staying out of doors the rest of today.
Early Christmas Shopping
Sept. 20, 2006
I am up early this morning.
This promises to be a busy day.
After I have drank my coffee and put the dogs outside for the day
Then one quick call to Amy that I am on my way.
Checking to make sure that I don’t forget a thing.
Camera, newspaper, coupons.
Ok that’s it now leave one light on.
What for your thinking?
It’s Sonny Boy the canary so he will keep on singing.
He will sleep all day if it’s dark in the den.
So one lamp is turned on by his cage amen!
I’m in the car I stop along the way.
Pick up two bags of Macintosh apples at a small grocery store.
O they are so good this time of year.
One eaten a day keeps the doctor away!
Now I’m off again, the traffics not bad.
I arrive in record time.
Braden marches fast and greets me at the door.
We play for a little bit and then it’s time for the shopping trip.
We find the new Target store without much trouble.
I climb out and get a basket to put Braden in.
Then off we go and what a store.
It’s twice the size of ours that’s nearby.
The prices were great, really first rate.
A lot of good sales.
I made a big dent in my Christmas list.
Something was bought for all five grandchildren.
Amy did great to.
She found Braden a bicycle with training wheels Wow!
I found him a wagon.
Can you tell of the fun we are having?
We like this store we’ll come back again.
Braden is getting sleepy so we pay for our purchases, say goodbye to the clerk.
Then out the door to find the car and head towards home which isn’t too far.
Braden fell fast asleep while riding along in his car seat.
We stopped at Subway used Nana’s coupon.
Bought two club sandwiches for the price of one.
On Italian cheese bread yum yum, we both said.
We came into her house left our purchases in the car.
Heated up spaghetti for Braden yes he woke up.
No long nap today we might as well give that idea up.
He looks so funny with spaghetti all over his face.
I got my camera out and took a picture.
It finished up this roll of film.
Don’t worry Nana always has another roll to put back in.
Our sandwiches were delicious and we had only eaten half
Then we had a good laugh.
We were too full to eat anymore.
So Amy tried Braden to go for a nap.
He played for awhile in his crib and then A commercial for Elmo came on the tv.
His voice got louder and so Amy gave him ten minutes and brought him out.
Forget the day amen!
Amy went after Austin while I stayed with Braden.
Braden and I get along very well.
Austin has a play gun Braden brought it to me.
I said, Braden look at Nana
Pow, Pow, Pow!"
He watched my mouth and coppied me and out came the word, Yipee!
He is so smart.
I remember this is how I taught Amy to talk.
In came Austin from school.
A big hug from him and then he said with a grin. Nana, I walked all the way home.
It’s pretty far so I thinking your kidding.
Your right he said and a good laugh was had.
He is soo handsome and tall
He got down on the floor to play with Braden.
They had a ball.
Then Austin went to his room to get on with the homework.
A responsible boy Nana’s proud of him.
He brings me great joy.
In the door comes Wes work all done for the day.
Nana needs to go home so goodbye’s were said.
A hug to Amy who helped me carry my purchases to the car.
I live about twenty-five minutes away that’s not very far.
I stop and buy dogfood and fill up my gas tank start home again.
I am a littly weary but: I’ve put things away.
The Christmas gifts no peeking until Christmas Day!
Richard’s Birthday
Sept. 21, 2006
Nicole called me on the phone and said, I’m making Pizza
.
Wild horses couldn’t keep me away.
She is a great cook.
I am on my way.
I’ve got Richards gift; put the dogs out back.
I am on my way and making tracts.
Gamma is here and Pop, Nick and Nicole.
Rusty and Lea Ann came after awhile.
It was nice to see them all.
The weather was just right.
Cool and the mosquitoes gave us a rest.
They bit enough all summer.
Now I hope they are dust.
Nick showed me his week of work from school.
He is learning how to write several words.
He likes school now.
They keep him busy.
He has learned a lot the past two weeks.
Before we know it he will think he can teach
He said he had called Sissy and Bubba.
I asked him if
