There once was a little white cat.
She loved Christmas, there’s No question bout’ that.
She liked very much her tall Christmas tree
With presents as far as the eye could see.
She loved all her gifts sitting neat in a row.
She loved all her gifts topped with a colorful bow.
Reds, Greens and purples, Silvers and Gold
Wrapped up the boxes with paper so bold.
The white cat named Minnie looked on in awe
At all of the boxes and bags that she saw.
But was Minnie happy? No not one bit,
Because only one present is all she will get.
Leanna Mandeville
My name is Leanna Mandeville and I've dreamed my entire life of becoming a published author. As you can see that dream has come true. I am a young woman who is currently single with one dog, Ebony Louise, or as I call her Ebby Luu. I have a pretty large family. I am the oldest of 5 sisters and 8 brothers. I'm proud of each and every one of them even if we don't see each other often.I still remember that magical day when I picked up a pencil for the first time and began writing. I had been in special education for English until 7th grade. Sadly, I was left behind by my school. I had been placed in special education for my dyslexia in 2nd grade and was sadly ignored after that. My elementary school never really taught me anything. At the time I thought it was cool. I didn't have to learn or do homework like the other kids. But now it makes me sad. To this day I can't tell you the difference between a verb or a noun.At first writing was difficult for me. I wanted to write but deep down I didn't actually believe I could. That all changed when my mother switched me schools in 7th grade. I am proud to say that when I enrolled in school in Flushing Michigan I found my calling. My teachers stopped ignoring me and instead praised me and tried their best to catch me up. That's when I realized that I had a talent for story telling. Although my new cared enough to give me the knowledge I needed to advance my talents it was my friends that helped me be proud of what I do. Just because I had dyslexia and was left behind didn't mean that I couldn't fallow my dream. Now I've released my first book titled Can You Walk On Water? and it feels amazing. But this is only the start. There will be more to come because with me I'm never done writing. Never done dreaming. Never done telling stories.
