a simple word

came anew a rebirth of the soul

something forgotten

something hidden from the sight

a path

one I’ve been on before

one I thought I knew well

a path

that has since been overgrown

darkened and unkept

where I’ve been

is unsure and no signs no signals no markers

as to where this is or the path I’ve been on

maybe it’s the path along

maybe it’s the footsteps of mine

just maybe

maybe in the cloud of uncertain

lost in the memory of the mind

God

in all his grace

was waiting for me

to look to my feet

to look again, to breathe
