Pain, pain, pain! We all want to avoid it, and when we get it, we want to get rid of it. Dr. Ouellette’s Anti-Inflammatory Pain Relief Diet is a new alternative nutrition book written in a lecture style format for easy reference. Foods that wreak havoc in the body are grouped for easy memorization.

Some common foods can cause pain, and some foods act as precursors for bad prostaglandins. These prostaglandin hormones make inflammation worse and can lead to more pain. Identifying these foods and avoiding them will help people reduce pain.

Certain foods act as precursors for good prostaglandins. Let’s learn what they are and eat more of these foods. Low back pain, neck pain, headache pain, arthritic pain, athletic injury pain, and any other pain actually, can be helped by the way a person eats and by the kinds of foods a person chooses to eat. Quite often people eat themselves into pain and then try to medicate themselves out of pain. Some foods have several mechanisms through which they can harm the body. The question came up as to why these foods have never been put into one avoid-list.

The problem is that there are so many bad foods, low grade poisons let’s call them, that it is a great imposition on our modern diets to avoid them all. Some of the people who choose to avoid them make miraculous, seemingly impossible recoveries. We have heard from patients who say their medical doctors just wouldn’t believe that a recovery could come so quickly after years of pain. Some people who have had years of constant pain to the point of becoming socially reclusive were able to get marked relief in just a few days by sticking to the diet very strictly.

People with pain, and inflammation, who are at the desperate stage of their condition can look to this diet for relief. People in chronic long term pain, but not particularly in any crisis, will also benefit immensely by learning how to eat to reduce pain. Any health problem requiring a better blood flow may benefit from an improved diet plan. Any condition that would benefit from ‘unplugging’ of the vascular system will benefit from this diet. This is especially so for the so called degenerative problems like arthritis.

The term ‘plugging’ is used to denote a temporary local change in vascular flow, and/or lymphatic flow, that leads to an intermittent reduced blood flow. This ‘plugging’ of tissues and systems in our bodies comes in a subtle way that is not fully grasped. ‘Plugging’ may come from common foods that have been eaten for centuries. Human genetic variability plays a role that is yet to be understood, and makes individual testing a must.

Dr. Ouellette’s Anti-Inflammatory Pain Relief Diet is one more tool for a clinician to use in the search for the right combination of treatments that give some relief on the very first visit and progress steadily forward on every subsequent treatment. One of the major purposes of this book is to sow a seed, so to speak. We wish to set people on the trail of ‘self discovery’ so they can find out for themselves how their particular body reacts to various foods. Learning how to eat may reduce, or even eliminate low back pain, but will not remove the need for a good multi-professional health care team.

Dr. Ouellette’s Anti-Inflammatory Pain Relief Diet lists a group of foods to avoid and teaches how to implement this new way of eating. Included are fifty-nine lists to help people with good health, including a TWENTY-WAYS list to check for food reactions and a TEN-THINGS list of what people can do to help themselves if they have a food problem. This book teaches what to do when people inevitably cheat on this diet and how to minimise the effects of cheating. The second book in this series, Cheating on Dr. Ouellette’s Anti-Inflammatory Pain Relief Diet goes into more details on the cheating aspect and has many more recipes. Also explained in this book is how to slow down weight loss on this diet because weight loss often happens too quickly and so, people
