    Preface

Pain is an enigma. Without it we die; with it we suffer. The purpose of the first book, Dr. Ouellette’s Anti-Inflammatory Pain Relief Diet is to provide guidance on how to help people reduce pain by using common foods and by avoiding common foods. It is assumed you have read the first book and understand the poison food list. This present book is a companion book to the first one and is all about helping people cheat on the diet in a more effective way.

There are 59 lists in our first book to help people understand the principles of the FoodPainConnection. This book has 30 lists to help people grasp these principles we are teaching with Dr. Ouellette’s Anti-Inflammatory Pain Relief Diet. In this book, the aspect of cheating on this diet is addressed thoroughly with some secrets and some trick to help people cope more effectively. Here is a sampling of some of the lists in this book.

Ten Things You Can Do to Help Yourself

    Remember these seven things

Scientific evidence is available indicating that several common foods are not good for humans. The damage is often subtle and difficult to detect clinically. Most people think that the practice of medicine is a fine science, but in reality, the practice of medicine is more like an art with only one percent of medical interventions proven conclusively by the scientific process. We are left with mostly guesses by medical doctors. They make an honest try at doing a good job; nevertheless, they are mostly guessing.

People need to take control of their own health care. They need to pay attention to their body and how they feel. Correlating physical feelings with what has been eaten will lead to certain conclusions about food. Some foods make people feel worse, some better. The lag time, or delay between eating a food and sensing changes caused by the food, is very confusing indeed. This is particularly so if people have several meals inside them at any one time, which, of course, most people do.

The previously released book, Dr. Ouellette’s Anti-Inflammatory Pain Relief Diet, was first published in May 2002. The second edition was published in 2014. It teaches how to recognize Dr. Ouellette’s poison-foods and what to do when you find them. Dr. Ouellette’s poison-foods are common everyday foods that may be harmful. Foods tie into our feeling of well-being. Survival mechanisms drive us unconsciously toward certain kinds of foods. Modern life is difficult and stressful. We need help to search through the maze of physical sensations and we need help searching the scientific evidence. This book, Cheating on Dr. Ouellette’s Anti-Inflammatory Pain Relief Diet, gives some help in dealing with cravings and eating behaviours.

We will not delve into every aspect of nutrition in this book, nor will we discuss all the ramifications of how foods impact on the body. What we will do is give help hopefully, in such a way that it will motivate. We will provide enough information to convince people to continue Dr. Ouellette’s Anti-Inflammatory Pain Relief Diet without overloading them with research data. There are many good books on nutrition which cover various topics in the nutrition field.

The first book, Dr. Ouellette’s Anti-Inflammatory Pain Relief Diet, combined with this sequel, has the potential to reduce pain tremendously. This is especially so if you are one of the many people who react to one of the common foods on the avoid-list. Even if you have had pain for years, just follow the six key points rigorously, go on a strict elimination diet, do the home routines using the stretching and deep fibre techniques, and you will see marked improvement quickly.

Set realistic goals. For instance, expect 80 percent to 90 percent of the constant pain to disappear and also 70 percent to 80 percent of the intermittent pain that comes on during movements. Adding some of the other complementary alternative medicine therapies may boost your success somewhat. Change your attitude from one that expects the doctor to cure you toward an attitude that says, My body can cure itself. I just have to learn how to help it.

If this diet works so well, why does it take so long for the medical profession and the general population to believe that these foods are poisons? If you can answer the question why it takes governments so long to understand that smoking causes many diseases and costs billions of health care dollars, then you might be able to answer the previous question. It would appear other forces are in play. The milk marketing board; the dairy, wheat, and cattle industries; farmers; and other powerful lobby groups in the food industry, have a vested interest in making money, not in keeping people healthy. They pay large amounts to market their products effectively. Unfortunately, medical doctors know little about nutrition. They are easily influenced by the marketing hype from large organizations.

Let us know how you are doing, what success you have had, and what problems you are having. Contact us at info@painreliefdiet.com and leave a short note of no more than 100 words. If you wish to write a longer story, and please proofread it before sending it to us.

Good luck and welcome to a new way of eating.

    Vision

We envision a community of people all eating a healthy balanced diet that helps reduce pain.

    Mission Statement

Our goal is to motivate people to use common foods to reduce pain permanently.

    Purpose

We specialize in educating and encouraging people who suffer from pain to modify their diets and lifestyle behaviours. People can reduce their pain by making significant and effective lifestyle changes shown to increase both the quality and the quantity of life.

    Using Food as Ther-a-py

to Make You Feel Years Younger

    Introduction

    Our Wellness Approach

Our mission statement and purpose reflect our wellness approach. Modification of behaviour is one of the most difficult things to achieve. However, modifying behaviour offers one of the most rewarding methods of improving the quality and the quantity of life. If you want to live a long time then eating, exercising, and thinking differently from what you do now will need to be on your agenda. We will encourage you to make some changes that will help you live a little better with less suffering.

To these ends we have divided Wellness into two sections. The first section is PAIN RELIEF, specifically pain relief using natural non drug, non surgical means. The second section is OPTIMAL HEALTH. We recommend five different kinds of treatments for pain relief, most of which are in the alternative or complementary health care field. There are many more natural pain relief methods, however, we focus on the following ones.

List of Effective Pain Relief Treatments

    1.   Spinal Manipulative Therapy

         As delivered by chiropractors.

    2.   Nutrition Therapy

Dr. Ouellette’s Anti-Inflammatory Pain Relief Diet using food as therapy and supplements as anti-inflammatory treatments.

    3.   Deep Fibre Therapy

Finger pressure on muscle trigger points and other soft tissues, often with the option of accompanying TENS current.

    4.   LASER/Electrical Therapy

Cold Laser acupoint therapy with or without TENS current.

    5.   Exercises

Stretches and strengthening custom designed for the patient’s condition with special home exercises for shoulder, elbow, and hip joint problems.

The second section of Wellness is OPTIMAL HEALTH. Optimal health involves a circle of Wellness behaviours that fall into five minimum basic categories.

    OptimalHealthSecrets.Com Lifestyles List

    1.   Nutrition

    2.   Exercise

    3.   Spinal Health

    4.   Rest & Relaxation

    5.   Attitude & Perspective

The medical profession has a specific model that relies on drugs and surgery as its main approach to controlling pain. Often these are necessary, and medical people are necessary in our communities for sure, but so are a host of other well-trained specialists in the alternative and complementary health care fields.

Many years of clinical experience in the health care field have been instrumental in drafting Dr. Ouellette’s Anti-Inflammatory Pain Relief Diet. It is up to you to listen. It is up to you to do it. It is up to you to heal yourself. We can help you with that.
